This loved-up couple were lucky enough to have this incredible venue in the family. “The farm belongs to my mum’s partner, Paddy and is a very special place to both of us,” reveals the bride. “The views are spectacular, and the area itself is just beautiful.” Add a teepee, talented photographer, Caroline Sada Weddings, a bunch of DIY projects by a seriously creative groom, and you’ve got the recipe for a great wedding. THE THEME “We went for a Moroccan boho vibe. We served cocktail canapés, the dress code was semi-formal and we wanted our wedding to feel more like a mini festival, so we invited our guests to pitch a tent for the night. In the morning we had a breakfast cook up, with an espresso machine so guests could have real coffee.”
DIY “I made the invites and other printed materials, painted and wrote the signs and decorated. I wanted the invites to really tie in our themes. I took inspiration from an Eric Clapton album artwork from our aisle song, and used design elements from Danni’s ring I had commissioned in the artwork. I then used colours that were included in the table centrepieces, and in the suits and the bridesmaids’ dresses. The design elements in the invite carried over to the wedding favours and the menu cards, drawing everything together.”
FAVOURITE DETAIL… “The teepee made a huge difference to the overall visual impact and I’m glad we went with it. There were a few things that I wasn’t willing to compromise on, and it was one of those things where an alternative wouldn’t have done the party justice.”
THE DRESS “I had my dress made by Kate Ellard. She made my friend’s dress last year and I really loved it. I did the whole ‘wedding dress shopping’ with my friends, but nothing really suited me. I printed out a number of photos to show Kate. We worked together to select fabrics for the dress which included a delicate Chantilly lace and georgette silk. It was such a fun and pretty easy process which really surprised me!”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Pay for a professional photographer, and build a relationship with them. Find someone who’s style you’re happy with, as it’ll be the official and enduring record of your wedding.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Our celebrant, Megan, went above and beyond! She created a ceremony for us that was so personal and really told a story about us as a couple for all our guests. Di, our florist, was just amazing to work with! And we can’t thank Paddy enough!”
