Have you ever been to the French Riviera, friends? We only ask because it just so happens that this (jaw-droppingly beautiful) part of the world just so happens to have been the inspiration for the fabulous new Prea James Bridal collection, Riviera, after the talented designer took a trip to the Cote d’Azur in her early 20s.

“I love the way femininity has evolved over time, with certain silhouettes in fashion circling back around and fusing with modern details to create a new wave of modern romance,” says designer extraordinaire Prea, who also took style notes from her favourite fashion eras in crafting this dreamy new drop.

This nod to timeless, enduring styling shines bright through these pieces – seven new gowns, a slew of stunning separates and a whole lot of gotta-have-them accessories, to be exact. And we beg you, do not make us choose a favourite because we are swooning for every single piece. While Penelope – a dramatic, structural, heavily boned corset with top stitch detailing – is a highlight piece of the collection, we’re also crushing hard on the super-sweet Winona Mini, which pairs perfectly with The Bowie giant train-like bow. The ultimate reception outfit, we say.

Another thing we love about this drop? While the usual luxe materials are represented (hello, sheer organza, Italian viscose satin and heavyweight silk satin), you’ll also find fabrics fit for a contemporary bride, like the tea-length Sidonie dress, made from a heavy silk twill, or the floor-length floral jacquard Anouk.

You can get your hands on the fine pieces, which are made to order, at Prea James’ flagship boutique in Sydney’s Paddington, and almost 30 stockists around the world.
