Last week we started to roll out our end of year round-ups with our Best of 2019: Wedding Cakes followed by Bridesmaids DressesStyling Ideas, Grooms Style, Bridal Bouquets and Bridal Gowns. Well, today, the final day of 2019, we’re capping things off with Best of 2019: Real Weddings (according to your clicks, likes and comments throughout the year across our blog, Instagram and Pinterest pages).

So many of our fave photographers made the list this year… from Queensland faves Bonnie Jenkins and our homegirl Janneke Storm to West Oz faves Alexandra Cohen and Hannah from Keeper Creative. You’ll also find Northern Beaches wonder-kid Blaise Bell on the list, Newcastle local Joel from Barefoot & Bearded, Byron babe Beck Rocchi Photography and of course, Sydney legends Zoe Morley and Scott Surplice also make an appearance.

Some of our fave vendors have popped up in these weddings too, including but not limited to Sphere Collective (the best place to shop in Queensland for a huge range of bridal gown designers), Love Marie Bridal Boutique (our go-to for amazing bridal gowns west of Sydney), to Nomad Styling and, of course, our bridal designer hero, the crazy-talented Karen Willis Holmes.

So without further delay, pull up your Pinterest board and get note-taking, because right here, in no particular order, are our top ten real weddings of 2019…

MOLLY & DANIEL, SYDNEY, NSW
You guys love a surprise wedding, and Molly and Daniel’s didn’t disappoint, largely thanks to the epic photos Alexandra Cohen captured as guests (including the brides parents and best friend) found out they we’re actually attending a wedding as the bride started walking up the aisle. You can check out all the amazing moments and happy tears right here, and then be sure to check out more of Alex’s work here. She may be Perth based, but she travels all over Australia and the world shooting humans in love.

JADE & CREE, SUNSHINE COAST, QLD
From the mis-matched all white bridal party, to that stunning gown from Sunshine Coast bridal boutique Sphere Collective (seriously Queensland brides-to-be, this place is a MUST VISIT on your dress shopping hit list), to the candid snaps by Queensland lens lady Bonnie Jenkins, you guys showed some serious love for Jade and Cree’s gorgeous wedding day. If you missed it click here to check out the whole shebang and here for the latest gowns from Sphere Collective. Oh and you’ll find more of Bonnie’s pretty pictures here.

BROOKE & BENNY, NORTH COAST, NSW
When you travel the country over and shoot as many amazing real weddings as Joel from Barefoot & Bearded does (like these weddings we’ve featured here, here and here) one was bound to make our Top 10 list. Brooke and Benny’s day was so damn refreshing. They wore what they want, chose the traditions they wanted to up hold and made whole new ones that felt right to them. All in all their day was just so bloody inspiring. Once you’re done reading all about it here be sure to click here for all our fave Barefoot & Bearded moments.

JEN & GAZ, SURF COAST, VIC
Originally published in issue 24, Jen and Gaz’s wedding blew us away with the crazy amount of colour (styled by Nomad Styling) and roaring good times (captured by Beck Rocchi Photography). If you’re unsure about bucking tradition and go your own way, let this wedding be the push in the right direction that you need. F*ck tradition, have a day that is true to you. ANNIE & SAM, SYDNEY, NSW
We were huge fans of Annie and Sam’s laidback Sydney wedding, from that stunning Chosen By One Day gown (from one of our all time fave bridal boutiques, Love Marie) to photographer Blaise Bell’s candid approach to capturing every fleeting moment and happy memory. Love Marie is the exclusive Sydney stockist of this cult Melbourne label, so if you’re a Chosen fan be sure to drop Love Marie owner Amy a line to make your appointment today. MICHAELA & OLIVER, KANGAROO VALLEY, NSW
We loved so much about this wedding (and from the amount of love you showed it, so did you guys!) From the brides Lost In Paris bridal gown (made from vintage french textiles) to the silent disco once the reception wrapped up (thats noise restrictions sorted) we loved everything about this day – including the rather excellent photos by Scott Surplice Photography. If you’re after a super bloody lovely photographer to help guide you through the day, and capture every glorious moment, then be sure to check out Scotty’s work here and here, oh and here on the cover of issue 25! Yep, he’s so bloody good we put him on the cover of one of our most recent issues.
