Last year we saw the lads really step things up a notch when it came to finding something other than your standard black suit to wear and this year, oh wow! The gents have gone above and beyond yet again, ensuring that they are walking down the aisle not only in something they’ll no doubt wear again, but something they are comfortable in, that feels like a true representation of them.

From pink suits to black gowns, heavy tweed suits and light linens, there is literally something in this 2022 wrap up for everyone. So without further delay, we present to you the Best of 2022 Groom Style, according to your clicks, likes and comments throughout the year, right here on the blog as well as over on our Instagram and Pinterest pages.

Once you’re done here be sure to check out the Best of 2022 wrap ups we’ve blogged so far – Cakes, Wedding Parties and Styling Ideas are all worth a read, especially if you’re on the hunt for bridesmaid dresses (or, like the rest of us, just love cake).

OSCAR HUNT TAILORS
This heavy tweed suit by Aussie tailors Oscar Hunt is perfect for a winter wedding. Not only are we loving on the brown, we’re loving on the fact Matt will get re-wears for life out of each piece together and individually. For more of Amy and Matt’s gorgeous Sydney wedding, photographed by our mate Scott Surplice, simply click here. Oscar Hunt has showrooms in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and even one on the gold coast so if you’re thinking of splashing out on dapper new threads then simply enquire with the Oscar Hunt boys here.

SUITABLY
Of course one of Australia’s premium custom suiting outfits has one very dapper groom on the list!  The complementary blue tones make for such fun summer wedding attire, we can see why the readers were loving on this combo from Suitably in 2022. To see more from Shreeya and Sho’s day, with photos by the lovely and talented Amanda Alessi, simply click here. Eyeing off that whisky glass and thinking it would make a great groomsman gift? Nouvelle Glass do the most beautiful monogrammed whisky glasses.

M.J. BALE
Adam’s bright and fun M.J. Bale suit was popular with readers this year. Adam is a celebrant (be sure to check out Married by Adam if you’re looking for a great Sydney-based one) so he has had a front-row seat to check out every groom’s style for years and would know that M.J. Bale is one of the best in Australia when it comes to suit shopping. For more of Ange and Adam’s North Coast wedding, with photos by Sydney-based lens lady Samantha Heather, simply click here.

PEGGY & FINN
To be honest we have no idea who the suit is by, but we’re assuming you were all loving hard on that snazzy Peggy & Finn tie featuring Australian Natives. Dig this look? We are loving on their Fan Palm tie as well as their Flowering Gum in Terracotta tie (all of which are available in bow ties and pocket squares to boot). They sell all of their fabrics by the metre, too – if you wanted to get a dog coat made to match. Photographed by Ashleigh Haase, you can see the whole of Julia & Jannaka’s Yarra Valley wedding by simply clicking here.

AMAARE
We loved Lauren and Aadith’s Melbourne wedding so much that we put it on the cover of Issue 33. Photographed by HM fave Miranda Stokkel, we instantly fell in love with this dapper couple and Aadith’s Ice Embroidered Bandhgala from Amaare. Loving on this look? Amaare have two stores in New Delhi, India, or you can shop online here. Wanna hire Miranda to shoot your own day of good times? Simply click here to drop her a line, and who knows, it may just be your wedding gracing the cover of Hello May next.

KATE WILLA
We blogged Matthew and Phillip’s gorge Brisbane wedding back in April 0f 2022 and this stunning portrait of Phillip in his custom made, gold embroidered Kate Willa gown was one of our most liked Insta photos of the year. Photographed by Kate Lund, you can check out the whole day here.

M.J. BALE
Simone and Martin’s wedding (photographed by I Got You Babe Weddings) featured on the blog in March of 2022 and was a consistent fave for the rest of the year with maximum clicks on the credit for Martin’s snazzy blue velvet outfit which is by none other than HM fave M.J. Bale. These guys have bricks and mortar showrooms Australia Wide and the most easy to shop online store, it’s no wonder M.J. Bale is so popular with grooms Australia over. See some more of our fave M.J. Bale looks here.

GUCCI
Brisbane boys Duncan and Kyle won the hearts of the HM team and readers far and wide not just with their smooth AF Gucci ensembles but with their cat Luca (who is a valued member of their family) and played an important role in their day. These photos of Duncan, Kyle and Luca by Stories By Ash will melt even the coldest of hearts. If you love Stories By Ash’s beautifully candid captures as much we do, and want to see if she’s available to shoot your own wedding, simply enquire here.

REIGNER CLOTHING
Harry Styles eat your heart out! Fashion-forward, Australian grooms like Dan here know that Reigner Clothing is where it’s at for unique, one-of-a-kind, embroidered suits. These custom made heirloom pieces will set you back anywhere from $2700 – $3200 but oh boy, is it worth it. You could also pick up the Hurricane Death Roll suit for $2200. Dan’s suit really needs to be enjoyed from all angles, so click here to check out the rest of  Ali and Dan’s Melbourne wedding, with photos by the one and only Brown Paper Parcel.

JOE BLACK
Ella and Brayden’s West Oz wedding also proved to be a favourite. The groom wasn’t keen on photos by himself (we’re sure his mum and grandma are devastated) so you’ll just have to make do with this shot of not one, not two, not three, but four gents looking totally dapper in their Joe Black fits. This way for more photos by Flossy Photo.
