Can we just say, Aimee and Rory legit pulled together one of the best teams around to bring their wedding vision to life. Seriously, you don’t get a much more stellar lineup of rockstar vendors than these guys called in for their gorg Blue Mountains elopement. With Barefoot & Bearded on pics, Film & Foliage on florals, The Wilderness Chef taking care of the noms and Holy Matrimonty making the whole thing official (plus providing so many lols) – it’s actually the dream team, no jokes. And of course, special shoutout to Aimee’s beautiful Grace Loves Lace ‘Alexandria’ gown because What. A. Stunner. This right here is what elopement is all about, you guys. Doing things your way with a bunch of awesome experts on hand to make it truly spesh.

THE THEME “We wanted our day to be a little different and full of adventure. We initially had planned to elope in New Zealand at the top of the mountain with a helicopter! However, when COVID hit, the Blue Mountains was our next spot.”

THE VENUE “We love travelling and our holidays always end up as something adventurous, such as hiking, camping, snowboarding or mountain biking. We love exploring different locations and have been going on amazing adventures since we met. We love hiking and the different feel of the mountains compared to the coast, so we chose the Blue Mountains to elope. When we came across the treehouse there were no questions, we just looked at each other and said “that’s the place”. We still can’t believe we got married in a treehouse! We had actually planned to get married at a lookout 100m from the treehouse, but on the day it was pouring rain and so our backup was to get married in the treehouse itself. We are actually so glad it rained, the treehouse was spectacular.”

FAVE DETAILS “One of our favourite details was the venue itself. The Treehouse Blue Mountains is one of the most spectacular accommodations we have ever seen! It sits almost 11m above the ground in the tree canopies overlooking Wollemi National park. You could hear the river flowing at the base of the valley, the fog and cloud formation changed by the second and the view was just breathtaking! Although it was December it was actually quite cool due to the rain, which was perfect as there was a fireplace in the treehouse and made the mood and setting so much more magical! Our other favourite detail of the day was hiking up Mount Banks in the pouring rain for our adventure shoot with our photographer, Barefoot & Bearded, and cinematographer, The Lucky Ones. It had been raining for a few days so the ground was quite wet, we hiked 20 minutes up the mountain in our raincoats (we planned in advance as the weather wasn’t looking good), took them off at the top of the mountain and got absolutely soaked walking back down. But this memory I will never forget!

THE DRESS “I have always absolutely loved Grace Loves Lace gowns. Ever since we got engaged I had my eye on the Alexandria gown, I loved the high neck and the look of the stretch lace, it always looked so comfortable and flattering. I never tried it on and when we finally decided to go all out and book the elopement I knew that was the dress. I actually had a friend who wore the Alexandria gown for her wedding four years prior – on a whim I messaged her to see if she still had it, and she did… it was a perfect fit! So basically I tried one dress on and it was meant to be!”

RESOURCES “Rory actually knew Joel from Barefoot & Bearded from university a few years prior, just before he got into the wedding photography business. We always planned to have our him do our photography and when we contacted him we decided the Anteloping team was the way to go for us! They are the most incredible bunch of creatives and we couldn’t have asked for a better team to help us create our special day! They went above and beyond and we are so glad we got them on board!”

LITTLE LOL “Our celebrant Monty, of HolyMatrimonty, and what he termed the ‘stripper pole’ in the treehouse (also known as the support pole!). As soon as he walked in, the pole made his day and after we got married, of course, we all had to get a photo with the pole and had a great laugh.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “Eloped! It was the most amazing adventure and we did exactly what we wanted to do and it enabled us to have the whole day to ourselves and enjoy and soak up every bit of it! Obviously we missed having our family and friends here but that’s why we got the video and amazing photos to share!”

STANDOUT VENDORS “The Anteloping team are incredible! I couldn’t recommend them enough! They are all so incredibly talented and the most beautiful people. They also are all great mates and the vibes they bring as a team can’t be replicated. Meeting them prior and on the day, it just felt like a bunch of mates getting together that had been friends for years. If you are thinking of using the Anteloping team, and want to elope hassle-free, don’t hesitate.”
