Meet Alice and Alex, two food lovin’ lovers. Now, get a load of Alex’s proposal. “He contacted some of our fave restaurants who each provided a dish which Alex plated up at home (10 William St’s Pretzel, Kingfish Cevice from Automata, Chuck Tail with Mushroom and Marsala from Six Penny and the Date Tart from Rockpool)”, Alice gushes. She said yes, obvs. Fast forward a year and Alice lived out her bridal fantasy, decked out in a chic Lola Varma number (with hair and makeup by our faves at The Future Mrs). For the evidence, as captured by lens-legends Corinna & Dylan, and good times, as provided by the fun folk over at The White Tree, you best get scrolling…

THE VENUE “The most important thing for us was good food and good wine. We were pretty insistent on that. We loved the warmth and atmosphere at Porteno and after going for a site visit we were instantly sold! We know we made the right choice as it was beyond perfect for us. The staff there were also very relaxed and gave us a lot of flexibility when it came to food and wine choices, start and end times, styling etc. They even came over to our ceremony in our garden to provide drinks to our guests. We got super lucky with them.”

THE VIBE “We wanted everything to be elegant and minimalistic. We had a theme of whites, native greenery and hints of gold. We also wanted to make sure the wedding felt true to us. This is why it was so lovely to have the chance to have our ceremony in our own garden. It’s a memory that will live with us forever and makes it very special when we spend time out there now.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “The styling that George & Smee put together was incredible! We had a sea of candles and eucalyptus greenery which gave the most stunning smell that filled the room. It’s such a great memory whenever we smell eucalyptus now, it takes us right back. Also, the wedding cakes in the can from Continental Deli were AMAZING!”

THE DRESS “Wow, dress shopping was hard! I had a good idea when I went into it, being fond of minimalism, but it’s easy to get distracted! It probably took me two months to find the right outfit. I had always loved Lola Varma right from when I started looking at dresses. I found Lola Varma through a trunk show from a bridal boutique I had been seeing for a few months. Long story short, my outfit arrived two sizes too big with only 6 weeks to go until the wedding. This is where the incredible Courtney Illfield of Lola Varma took me under her wing and generously made me a whole new outfit which arrived just in time for the big day! She was literally my guardian angel.”

LITTLE LOL “After all our guests had left the ceremony to head to the reception, and we had a moment alone, we were absolutely starving from all the adrenaline and excitement. We had some bread in the house, so we made some peanut butter toast as a snack to see us through to the reception!”

STANDOUT VENDORSCorinna & Dylan – aren’t they the sweetest? We could honestly see ourselves being friends with these two from the moment we met them. And we hate taking photos normally! These guys made us feel super relaxed and take some amazing candid shots which we love.”
