These two lovebirds got married at home and put simply, it’s pretty glorious, guys. Complete with a stunning marquee and floral installations (yes, there’s plural) to die for, you would be hard-pressed not to think this was at a top-notch wedding venue. LITTLE LOL “A funny/ cute memory was when the marquee arrived at the start of the week before the wedding. Our kids (aged two and three at the time of the wedding) called it the ‘wedding house’ and thought it was just a big new play house for them to run around in and enjoy. The kids were shattered when it went back down a couple of days later!”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “The floral staircase installation created by Shonel (of Nomad Styling) was hands down the standout detail. It just blew our minds. The florals by Prunella also took my breath away. They couldn’t have been more perfect. Another little favourite detail was the cocktails that we had on offer to our guests at different times throughout the day and night that we felt really represented us. I loved seeing everyone drinking their Pomegranate Sours and Espresso Martinis – it definitely heightened the party vibe.”
THE DRESS “I had the most incredible experience with the Kyha ladies. I went to see them and one other designer but just couldn’t fault my experience at Kyha. It was everything I dreamed that shopping for my wedding gown would be. The girls were just so gorgeous and made my Mum, Sister, Aunty and I feel so special. I had the full ‘I’ve found the One’ moment… excitement, tears, I just knew it was my dress. The ladies made the fittings and the whole experience one I will never forget and they gifted my veil to me on my last appointment which was such a beautiful thing to do. I just couldn’t have loved them all more.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “A wedding stylist or planner is an absolute must to keep the stress levels down. Just enjoy the process. It’s a bit consuming and pretty full-on in the lead-up but it was a fantastic experience I will remember forever.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “I’m so happy we got married at home. At the time it did feel like a mammoth task – essentially creating a wedding venue. But the memories we have here now are just so special and it made our whole experience even better.
STANDOUT VENDORS “Blake’s Feast were an absolute standout and dealing with Amy in the lead-up and then Sophie on the night (who was just a rockstar) made the wedding even better. All of our guests commented on how delicious the food was, the beautiful drinks and how fantastic the staff were. They really took the wedding to another level for us.”
