Annaliese had been secretly purchasing Hello May for two years prior to Dean’s picnic proposal so its no wonder their wedding was a doozy (If we do say so ourselves). The couple are clearly fond of good fun having met at Cargo Bar in Darling Harbour and this extended to their dream day. Captured by Cassandra Ladru and Joey Willis at the Moroccan inspired Villa Rustica in Byron Bay, these pics are not to be missed. Scroll down for more…

THE VENUE  “We had seen the venue through Instagram and fell in love with it. We were planning on having approximately 80 guests at our wedding but when Villa Rustica informed us they only take 25 guests we cut our list way back. Because to us, there was no other wedding venue that came close to Villa Rustica and their style.”

THE VIBE “We were lucky that the venue alone is beautiful, so when deciding on how to style we wanted to keep it simple but also on theme with the Moroccan style venue. The aim of our wedding day was to create a relaxed and fun day, where the music was laid back and the drinks were always flowing. The best part of having an intimate wedding was that we could easily relax and chat to all our guests.”

THE DRESS  “For months prior to the wedding I was emailing back and forth with another designer creating the “perfect” dress, I had put all my trust into them. The dress date kept being pushed back so I only received/ saw it for the first time 1 month before the wedding. When it arrived I just broke down as it was nothing that I had envisioned and I went into full panic mode.  The Roslin Gown I wore on my wedding day I had seen a few months beforehand on Rachel Gilbert’s website so my Maid of Honour Emily took the reins and managed to get into contact with Rachel Gilberts Head Office and track down the one and only Roslin Gown in Australia. The girls at Rachel Gilbert were absolutely amazing managing to re-bead and express post the gown to me in under a week”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “We loved our raw berry wedding cake, as it was a little different from the regular style. Of course, it had to be pink and was topped with cute little love heart biscuits. Everyone raved about how delicious it was.”

LITTLE LOL “Two days prior to the wedding the bridal party and our sisters all got spray tans. When one of my sisters showered first she frantically messaged everyone else to hop in the shower ASAP as the tans had gone ridiculously dark and our hands and feet were extra dark. We tried everything we used bleach, toothpaste, tan remover but the best remedy of all was our photographer Cass who managed to make it a little less noticeable in our photos.”
