Bec is a floral designer – of FloraFolk (you can tell by the incredible blooms, eh?!) – and she married Ben in this beautiful, coastal wedding with their gorgeous two-year-old in tow and another on the way. Thanks to COVID, they had to reduce their numbers from 90 to 30, but “were pretty stoked in the end to have an intimate wedding. Our closest family and friends,  beautiful flowers, candles, food, cocktails, jazz music… A lovely dinner party where we could talk to everyone and it worked out perfectly.” Blaise Bell Photography captured the good times on camera, The Boathouse Palm Beach was the location and the Starlight Children’s Foundation provided the donation wedding favours. THE VENUEThe Boathouse Palm Beach was special – it is right next to where we got engaged, Palm Beach also had other sentimental family connections.”

FAVE DETAILS “The flowers were really special and my team did such a beautiful job, the styling on the table, the food, the cake, the music – I feel like we loved everything!”

DIY “Having my own floral design business I ended up designing my own flowers and the table styling. I really wanted to make the bridal party flowers myself and my amazing team created and set up everything else, I honestly could not have done it without them. Saying that I completely appreciate investing in wedding suppliers because it was quite overwhelming even doing that for my own wedding and I’ve been doing it for eight years!”

THE DRESSI had bought gown from a designer I loved but getting close to our original wedding date I tried it on again and it just didn’t feel like me – it was gorgeous but I didn’t feel like I was a typical bride and I wasn’t comfortable in it. So one day I walked into the Zimmermann store with Eadie in the stroller on my own, pulled a dress off the rack and was like yep, this is it, it’s perfect. One of Ben’s mates custom made [his] suit, so [he] was stoked to be able to wear that and will definitely wear it again.”

MEMORABLE MOMENTGetting photos out on the jetty in the wildest and coldest weather for November! But after having COVID postpone our wedding and all we went through last year, we seriously were still so happy in the rain and wind, just enjoying the moment in time.”

A WORD OF ADVICEInvest in the suppliers you love and connect with great client service skills, it really makes a world of a difference,  trust in them and don’t sweat the small stuff so you can enjoy this season of your lives.”

WE WISH WE… “Had the ceremony earlier than 6 pm, which we planned because there were still quite strict COVID restrictions at the time around the dance floor and mingling, but in the end, it all flew by and we still had such a lovely time chatting to all the guests and having our dance floor of 20 people.”

STANDOUT VENDORSSpecial shout out to Blaise Bell Photographynot only so talented but such a nice guy and down to earth, we felt so comfortable around him and he braved it out in the wildest weather to make sure we got some beautiful portraits in such a short amount of time. Anna, the event manager from The Boathouse Palm Beach – such a legend, so nice and always went above and beyond to look after us. And Alicia, my dear flower friend who stepped in for FloraFolk to make sure I didn’t have to worry about anything on the day.”
