Friends, meet Brianna and Kyle – a fab couple who’ve been together for 13 years, ever since they met as teenagers on summer hols with their respective families. “Kyle had noticed me during a visit to the beach and then approached my sister Mikaela to find out who I was,” the bride tells us. “After exchanging phone numbers, a few dates and a very quick intro to each other’s parents, we became official.”

And wouldn’t you know it, when Kyle got down on one day in early 2020, it was in the very same spot where they first got together. Cute! After that, the plans were in full swing (well, as full as wedding plans can be with COVID kicking around). But they brought on board a bunch of bangin’ vendors, nabbed themselves some finery (her a Chosen by KYHA dress, him a flash M.J. Bale ensemble) and made their dream day a reality, with a little help from lens lady extraordinaire Janneke Storm

THE VENUEYandina Station has a really special feel to it. It is so rich in history with the beautiful homestead and dairy barn on site. It suited us perfectly as a couple – both country kids at heart. Owners Sally and Neil also made our decision to choose Yandina Station easy. They are so passionate about the venue and made us feel very special. The venue was so beautiful on its own so we really wanted to ensure that it remained the hero, layering rustic elements with modern touches to complement the venue but adhering to our minimalist style.

THE DRESSThe process to find the dress took about six months, with a visit to both Melbourne and the Sunshine Coast. My dress was from Sphere Bridal Gallery on the Sunshine Coast and the gown was by Chosen By KYHA. I didn’t want anything too over the top but rather a simple yet elegant style to pair with a veil and accessories. Kyle’s suit selection was a far quicker process! We headed to M.J. Bale in Brisbane City, tried on the suit and ordered it that day!”

REFERENCESWe sourced a lot of inspiration through Hello May. A lot of our vendors were also recommended by the lovely owners of Yandina Station, which made our lives easier, and we actually also discovered our amazing musician Tim Hibberd Entertainment at the Eumundi Markets. We could hear Hallelujah playing in the distance and had to find out who it was.”

COOL CUSTOMI was privileged to wear my late grandmother’s gold signet ring and to have my late grandfather’s rosary beads entwined on my bridal bouquet. It was really special to include them in this way and know they were close to me during the day.”

WORD OF ADVICERelax and enjoy the process as much as possible. Take the pressure off yourselves and plan the day that you want – for you.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “They were all amazing and made us feel exactly that. We definitely do hold Sally and Neil of Yandina Station close to our hearts. They are really beautiful people who we still stay in contact with.”

Janneke Storm, who shot this beauty of a day, is one of our top recs here at Hello May – we definitely suggest hitting her up if you want some fancy snaps! We also can’t get enough of M.J. Bale, aka the masters of suitery, who will get any groom and his guy-squad looking glam af.
