Say hello to the inner city oasis that is Casey and Ben’s Melbourne wedding. The a-class event featured a rooftop that we’ve now fallen in love with- flowers, folliage and fairy lights aplenty- and one seriously elegant bride. Decked out in Stella McCartney, (with couples rings by Cushla Whiting Jewellery), this bride reveals they’ve been engaged longer than most. “We wanted to enjoy every stage so waited three years to get married.” And along with the Baker Boys Band for entertainment, wedding celebrant, Zena Lythgo, and our friend and photographer Janneke Storm behind the camera, the wedding sure was one to remember. Scroll down for all the details…

THE VENUE “We had two venues in mind, but the moment we walked out of the lift at Tonic House and onto the rooftop, we both knew it was the place for us.  It has an amazing view and is a blank canvas, so the possibilities were endless.  There is also a marquee which was a great wet weather contingency plan.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “Honestly, everything was more than we could have imagined. I had a plan of what I wanted the venue to look like with furniture, candles, flowers etc. but The Small Things Co. along with Flora & Kate really brought it all together and it was more than we ever could have dreamed of! The flowers were so beautiful and probably my favourite detail of the day. I still get comments on them now!”

THE DRESS “I actually bought the first dress I tried on, 12 months before the wedding. It didn’t fit me properly at the time, but I thought I’d be able to get into it. I soon realised I didn’t want to put that pressure on myself, so started to look at other dresses. The experience was really overwhelming- trying on different dresses that are never going to fit you properly, because they are all sample sizes. I decided to look at not just bridal boutiques and ended up at Le Louvre. From the moment I walked in, it was the most amazing experience. The service is second to none and the whole time I was there, I felt special. I stepped into a dress from one of my favourite designers and from that moment knew straight away. It fitted me like a glove and I felt so comfortable in it.”

LITTLE LOL “We have a little English Cocker Spaniel, Oliver, who loves to get up to mischief, especially when lots of people are around. When the boys were getting ready- as everyone was coming in and out of the house- the dog managed to sniff out the wedding ring box and escape. When Ben realised he wasn’t around, he knew straight away he was up to no good. He found him perched in the garden chewing on the box.  Luckily he caught him in time before he got the actual ring!”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Can I say all of them? We really had the best in the business. The Baker Boys Band who got the party started. Elise at Blakes Feast who managed the venue and the whole day. Her and her team kept everyone fed and hydrated. The Small Things Co., Flora & Kate and Dann Event Hire who made the venue look so beautiful. Plus the beautiful ladies who helped the bridesmaids and I get ready, Katie Lawrence + Co (makeup) and Sharah from Harlen Hair, our celebrant, who really set the tone for the day and then of course  Janneke Storm and Jules who captured every moment of the day. I am beyond grateful to have such beautiful photo’s to cherish for a lifetime.”
