Cassie and Alex’s wedding had us from the get-go. There’s just something about the classic aesthetic (hello red roses and dreamy candelight) and Salt Media‘s superb captures that puts a big smile on our dial. Then there’s the incredible Brisbane venue and ceremony styling, that showstopping Veganyumm Bakehouse cake, and finally, their definition of marriage…“Marriage is the act of best pals becoming legally recognised as one another’s favourite person in the whole world.” So you can see why we like them, right? THE VENUE “The big factor we had in mind for our venue was that we wanted our ceremony and reception to be in the same place, so nobody had to do any travelling in between.The Warehouse Brisbane was perfect and took care of the vast majority of things for us! So impressive, easy to communicate with, and always enthusiastic about making the space everything we could want for our day. We couldn’t have picked a better venue, truly. They had excellent and well established connections with some really talented professionals and it made our lives much easier in such an integral way.”

THE VIBE “I personally am an enormous sap, and Alex is always so wonderfully supportive of me being me (ie, the enormous sap). The overarching theme for us for our day was just deeply romantic love. I wanted red roses and candlelight; the classics, really. Paired with some dreamy sheer drapery hanging from the high ceiling beams, and florals displayed in and on top of white textured vases and plinths that were Mediterranean-reminiscent – an aesthetic Alex and I are always drawn to. I still feel so flawed by the beautiful execution, of our ceremony setup done by Main Event Weddings. Alex and I wanted to just stand still and bask in the atmosphere they created for us! I’m a raging perfectionist and a chronic dreamer, but I wholeheartedly mean it when I say it turned out better than I ever could have dreamed.”

FAVE DEETS “The CAKE! That cake… oof. We spoke with the incredible staff of Veganyumm Bakehouse to create a vintage heart-shaped two-tiered cake for us that was not only vegan, but also gluten-free. To have been able to include a cake for us that allowed me to have some too, is no small thing for someone with specific dietary needs! But not only did I get this dream come true, it was utterly delicious, beautifully designed, and an absolute showstopper visually! Many guests complimented us on the look, and especially on the taste, asking where they might go to find some more like it for themselves. Many were shocked to learn it was vegan and gluten free – a few weren’t sure if they believed us.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Salt Media – the photo-video duo from heaven. I simply shall never stop raving about them. Soph and Nath were pretty much the first vendors we reached out to have involved in our wedding and they became fast friends. I’ve loved having them in our corner – they shared genuinely in our excitement in the lead-up to our day and still are so supportively in touch now after it’s all been said and done.They’re such effortlessly good people to have around. Those kinds of humans who are just so delightful and rewarding to know, y’know?! But more to the point, their professionalism is immaculate, their skillsets are top tier, you’ll be at ease in front of the camera, and what they offer you is just the most beautiful, intricate, sacred time capsule in the form of video and photography. Words don’t do them justice though, just go check them out! Go, go, go!”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Book your venue for an extra hour longer than you think you might want it for. Maybe two if possible, even. Our one regret for our day was just that we wished it could go for longer, because we absolutely did not want it to end! “
