Charlee, a former professional netballer who played for the Adelaide Thunderbirds, and Tom, a farmer, were each other’s first girlfriend and boyfriend. Awww! After seven years together, Tom proposed to Charlee on Christmas morning under the tree. “We both had a few bevvies the night before with friends so there was a headache that quickly vanished when I realised what was going on!” Charlee tells us. A year later, the loved-up pair wed on Tom’s family farm, two-and-a-half hours from Adelaide in SA’s beautiful Yorke Peninsular and the oh-so talented Captured By Georgie was on hand to capture all the magic and mems, including the bride’s gorg gown and those Hera Couture statement sleeves (seriously, perfection!) from our friends at The Bride Lab. THE VENUETom’s heart was set on his late grandpa’s property before we were even engaged so let’s just say I had a few years to come up with a vision haha. It is where his parents got married as well, which makes it a bit more special. The stunning old brick farm house sits on top of a hill in Point Turton that overlooks the gorgeous blue Flaherty’s Beach and cropping farmland. Allsssoooo, by having it at the farm it meant no end time! We encouraged guests to bring their camping gear, party all night, camp on the property and join us for bacon and eggs and a coffee back on the lawn in the morning!”

MEMORABLE MOMENTMy mum and brother walking me down the aisle, and my first dance being with my mum! Mum is my idol and I loved giving her the honour of those roles.”

THE DRESS “My dress is from Alyssa Kristin and my sleeves are from Hera Couture – both of which I purchased through The Bride Lab, who were an incredible help. I always knew I wanted a simple feminine silhouette that flattered my waistline and to pair it with a fun sleeve moment. I found my sleeves before I found my dress through good old Pinterest! I got changed into a second dress after sunset (which I also got ready in) – a long, silk slip Shona Joy number. I knew after formalities were done I was going to be on that dancefloor most of the night so a flowy dress and sneaker change was a must!”

LITTLE LOLMy nanny and aunty both arrived in the same dress and our photographer Georgie captured a photo of them at the time they realised – we still crack up looking at it.”

STANDOUT VENDOR “Our photographer Captured By Georgie hands down – her work speaks for itself but she is honestly an incredible person who is so easy to get along with. Everyone who had an interaction with Georgie throughout the day had nothing but incredible things to say about her.”
