With a little one on the way, a destination wedding to plan and a bridal party scattered across the globe, Charlotte and Michael promise that their 18-month engagement was a necessity. Choosing to focus their long-awaited day on their natural surrounds, and Charlotte’s family’s Finca in Mallorca, details were sweet and simple. From the bridal party’s stripey Jasmine & Will jammies to the bride’s bouquet of greenery, we are all about this vibe. For more lush details, and Maria Hibb’s fab captures, please scroll down…

THE VENUE “The wedding was at my parent’s Finca in Mallorca. We have had a house on the island since I was 4, so it meant a lot to me. Michael and I have some very special memories there. It’s such a beautiful property. It was a no brainer!”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “The styling of the reception: the long tables with the Mallorcan Ikat runners, olive branches and lemons with a canopy of fairy lights – it was incredibly magical.”

FAVOURITE MOMENTS “Seeing my husband and son standing at the top of the aisle. I hadn’t been to a wedding prior to ours where the couple had already had a child and it just added even more love to the day. Everything I could have ever asked for was right in front of me and to celebrate that with our friends and family was something I will never forget. Michael says his favourite moment was my speech. I worked on my speech for about a year as I knew I wouldn’t be able to talk about Michael becoming a dad without bursting into tears if I didn’t rehearse! So, I really worked hard on it and there were a lot of tears from guys and girls – that wasn’t my intention! It was so important to me that I spoke to everyone who had made the effort to come all of that way and say thank you and to welcome them to my family home.”

LITTLE LOL “It is funny on reflection but at the time I was so embarrassed. Our first dance was to Into the Mystic by Van Morrison and we’d taken a dance lesson at Move Dance Studios so that we felt comfortable with the song and standing in front of everyone (both of us lack coordination!). We’d nailed the dance and rehearsed it so many times to perfection. When it came to the real thing, on the first twirl, I spun around and headbutted Michael’s forehead. Smooth!”

WE WISH WE “We went to Formentera for our honeymoon afterwards with our son – big mistake. We hadn’t done any planning, we only had accommodation booked. It was a disaster. We were exhausted and just wanted to chill out. It was the complete opposite and it’s not a great island for kids. On reflection, I wish we had done our honeymoon another time… maybe without a one-year-old!”

STANDOUT VENDOR “Without a doubt, Fab Events Lab, our planner. One of the things he said to us when we did our intro with him was “I’m not here to be your best friend, I’m here to plan your wedding and make it amazing.” I knew he was the planner for me! I trusted he knew what he was doing and he was amazing at bringing my vision to life.”
