Charlotte was eight months pregnant when Shane popped the question on their babymoon in Bowral. “After a morning of shopping, we came back to our airbnb, where Shane was planning on dropping his knee,” says Charlotte. “Me being very oblivious and pregnant got into my trackies and had an hour-long nap. After I woke, Shane said let’s go outside for a cheese platter, then to my surprise, he proposed and I excitedly said YES… followed by, ‘Wait, WTF I’m in my trackies’.” LOL!

There were no trackies in sight when the pair (dressed to the nines in L’eto Bridal and M.J. Bale) became Mr and Mrs. And thankfully,  photographer extraordinaire Ella, of Maple and June, was on hand to document the whole amazing day – the results, as you can see, are bloody gorgeous. Ready to read their love story? Yeah, you are!

THE VENUE “We originally wanted a destination wedding as we wanted a weekend getaway with our family and friends. I came across The Woods Farm – it had accommodation for 120 guests, beautiful grounds with so much to do, the most amazing bush chapel for the ceremony and it was only an hour away from us! It was a no-brainer.”

THE VIBE “We wanted a relaxed garden party vibe. I knew I wanted pops of colour with a timeless sense. I also gave a lot of creative freedom to my vendors and what they came up with was better than anything I could have imagined.”

FAVE DEETS “Everything came together so beautifully. Standouts were, of course, the florals – Faith from Lovers and Fleur took my breath away when I was walking down the aisle! The way her vision came alive was amazing to witness.”

THE DRESSL’eto Bridal was my first stop for bridal dresses, I knew I wanted a timeless silk dress with modern twist. We were tossing up between two long sleeve dresses but settled on the beautiful piece 44 after my second appointment. I loved the way it draped my body and the asymmetrical long sleeve detail, so elegant yet modern! The experience was amazing, Anya was meticulous with the details until the gown was perfect!”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Maple and June – Ella my photographer on the day (who I actually found through Hello May) made me feel so relaxed and calm, even through last-minute stresses! Our couple portraits felt relaxed and not awkward, which I think that is evident in our photographs.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… Had two nights with our guests. We wanted a weekend getaway for everyone. We knew this was a big ask, but were so impressed that majority of the guests could make the two nights. It allowed for everyone to meet the first night, so the night of the wedding everyone was familiar and it was a big party. It also took the pressure off ‘doing the rounds’ and having to thank everyone the night of the wedding as we had chatted to everyone the Friday night. We were able to have some drinks and really enjoy the dancefloor [courtesy of The Vintage Stylus].”

We know you’re loving on this wedding as hard as we are, and with that in mind, we’d like to direct you over to our directory, where many fab vendors, such as Maple and June, The Vintage Stylus and M.J. Bale reside.
