A property stylist and mechanic/ truck lover by trade, these two have been together for four years and as you can see, went all out for the big wedding of their dreams at Doltone House. “We wanted to have one big happy loving fun party with all of our friends and family,” reveals the bride. They got a few of our friends and vendors here at Hello May on board, too (say hi florist Willow & Bear and neon sign gurus Sammy & Lola!). THE VENUE “Aidan and I had attended a few Weddings at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf and we were always impressed by their service, atmosphere and food. We did have a two other short listed venues, but Doltone House was always the best fit for our vibe and to hold all of our 220 guests comfortably.”

FAVOURITE DETAIL Our favourite detail was Aidan’s black sparkle jacket that he changed into for the reception. When we walked into the reception, people’s faces were priceless. I knew in that moment our wedding mood and vibe was set for the rest of the night. It got everyone talking and no one knew about it which was extra surprising for all our guests and even our bridal party.”

THE DRESSMy vision for my dress was always going to be simple with structure. I knew looking at dresses from Sonia Cappellazzo (of Cappellazzo Couture) she was the designer for me. I was in love with all of her modern structural dresses that she had created for red carpet events and brides. My mum and I flew down to Melbourne around five times. Sonia and her team were amazing throughout the whole process I trusted her artisan hands and vision for my dress right from the start. Sonia also custom made my mum’s dress. We both loved our individual designs and couldn’t have been happier.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “I’m so glad we had outfit changes along the night and came out on the dance floor with our ‘Just Married’ Sign. It made the night fun and full of surprises for our guests. We also had arranged an after party location for any guests that wanted to continue to dance the night away in Sydney at Harpoon Harry’s. As an extra spin on things, I had made eight golden sparkle tickets that were placed under eight seats at the reception. The Golden Ticket allowed the guests entry into Aidan and I’s getaway Limo to go to the after party.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Plan your day that best represents you both and as a couple and don’t forget to find some time on the day with each other alone to take everything in. We managed to take a small little walk by ourselves outside of our reception it was such a nice moment to share with just the two of us as husband and wife and to look back and see everyone in one room altogether for us.”
