We’ve been chomping at the bit to reshare this EPIC day from our print archives! As an events, florals and interiors designer and owner of Perth FreakHaus, bride Eden knows her way around a wedding – and her own big day with Michael was a visual feast if ever we saw one. THE VENUE “Because we work at so many venues in Perth, we really wanted something that hadn’t been done before, but also felt like US! We didn’t want a DIY venue, because I can’t control myself with ideas and details, so we needed somewhere that had a unique aesthetic and could provided us with everything we needed. And Santini Bar, QT Perth hit the brief. Food and drink was also a huge deciding factor – we needed a great wine list and the Italian food as a node to both our backgrounds was a bonus.”

DIY “Haha, yes, of course we did. In true FreakHaus-style we pretty much did everything that we could. The invite designs, the flowers, the signage, styling concepts, accessory sourcing, lighting design, stage design, the list goes on!”

FAVE DEETS “We asked all our guests to wear black, ‘Vogue Black’, and although a few people struggled with the idea, we are SO glad we stuck to our guns because everyone looked 100% amazing and knocked it out of the park.”

THE DRESS “I knew I didn’t want to wear white and the thought of going into a bridal store had me very overwhelmed, so I started looking online to see what I could find. I was trolling so many websites, including Still White. One day, in the sea of white, this one and only Steven Khalil red masterpiece popped up on my screen and I snagged it straightaway. A very risky move considering I didn’t know how it would fit but the detailing was so intricate and beautiful I knew I wouldn’t be able to find anything else like it.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Ricky and our videographer Mel from Till Death are mind blowing – they didn’t put down their cameras the whole night (they stayed on as guests) and just captured the whole vibe of the night!”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Don’t let anyone tell you what you should or shouldn’t do – and if they do, don’t feel you have to justify why. The day is about you and you don’t want to regret a thing.”
