Elisa and Darren chose “timeless romantic as the theme of their nups, and we love their reason: “We did not want to go with anything too trendy as we wanted to look back on the day and still love it 10 and 50 years later.” Makes a lot of sense, right?! And groom Darren def passed the vibe check with his M.J. Bale tux.

Making sure the whole day got a big tick theme-wise was the talented Whole Lotta Love Creative team, who took care of styling and planning, and the pair called on the delish cakery skills of Ladybird Cakes for their tasty (and beautiful) two-tiered floral masterpiece. Laura Alyce Bell snapped every moment and we’re sure you’ll agree, she did a brilliant job. Scroll and see!

THE VENUE We choose The George Ballroom because we wanted an experience for our guests. We loved the European feel of the ballroom so we really wanted to embrace that, especially because we all couldn’t travel overseas at that time.”

FAVE DETAILS “My favourite detail on the day was my wedding dress. It was the first dress I tried on when my sister and mum were visiting me in Melbourne. The dress was designed by a fabulous local designer in Melbourne, Rosemary Masic, who is behind the label Nevenka. All her cuts and textiles are sourced from Croatia, Italy, France, Turkey and Balkan countries and my dress was a romantic

lace sourced from Croatia. It felt extra special because it was one of a kind.”

THE SUITMy suit was from M.J. Bale. I knew I wanted a classic tuxedo-style suit, which would be consistent with Elisa’s vision of ‘timeless romantic’. It was an easy decision.”

MEMORABLE MOMENTWe didn’t want a boring ceremony and I came across a great engaging celebrant on Instagram, Damon Hughes. Damon was amazing on the day, beyond my expectation. He had everyone laughing and crying at the same time. Our guests could not stop talking about him. Damon was the highlight of the day.”
