Elise and David are one of those couples that we’d love to have dinner with. David is a Detective, and Elise a Senior Investigative Analyst and we think they’d have stories for days, guys. Their own story, however, is the one we are bringing you today. It’s a beautiful one that dates back 10 years, has one seriously big and heavy gown (airport security joked that it was a dead body in the bag and not a dress!) and some unbelievably bold blooms. Alexandra Cohen caught it all on camera so scroll down for more…

THE VENUEA girl from work mentioned her cousin used Tp & Co. for her wedding and it had been set up at the Matilda Bay Reserve. However, we had to change our venue and University of Western Australia came to the rescue offering Prescott Court as an alternative. Once we visited the new site we knew it was a blessing in disguise, it was more intimate, much larger and allowed us to be more creative.”

THE VIBE We always wanted a wedding which would be more of an epic party celebrating all of the things we love with the people we love. Some of our best memories together are road tripping through California, Arizona and Utah, while the things we are both known for are finding the best places to eat, drink and watching every and any horror movie release. Because of this – there was a big focus on us selecting the food and alcohol served at the wedding and we made the effort of setting up a movie projector that played some of our favourite horror cult classics (JAWS, The Shining, Pans Labyrinth and The Thing).”

FAV DETAILSThe cake was amazing, we basically showed David’s sister some of our US road trip holiday pictures so she could get some inspiration and she used a 3D digital printer to create some of the cookie-cutter shapes to decorate the cake. The flowers. I remember early on reading wedding blogs and they recommended writing down the top three things you felt were important for your wedding. From day one, The Wildflower Perth topped that list. The movie space. One of the funniest parts of the night was everyone at the end lying down in that space, drunk and screaming quotes from JAWS.”

THE DRESS “I went to one store in Perth before making the trek over to Melbourne to visit KYHA. I like that their style is more for the modern bride – I knew I would never be in anything traditional (I love to test the boundaries). I spent 10 minutes in there before falling in love with my dress – The Saint. Words cannot describe how wonderful the girls were. From the moment I stepped in there (and every other fitting I had with them) they always made me and whoever I was with feel like absolute queens.”

MEMORABLE MOMENTThe offsite photos with the bridal group. We had so much fun, dancing on the streets to the music Alexandra Cohen was playing, popping bottles and throwing confetti at each other.”

WE’RE GLAD WE…We specifically picked every one of our vendors on the basis that we trusted how much of a professional they were in their particular industry and gave them the utmost discretion to do what they want. We obviously gave them an initial briefing on what vibe we were aiming for our big day but after that, we told them we were happy to see what they came up with. It was the best decision, it allowed them to get their creative juices flowing and they all exceeded our already high expectations on what they would come up with. TRUST the vendors you choose!”

STANDOUT VENDORS Alexandra Cohen – after seeing the photo locations she had chosen, I knew she had really put thought into what our relationship was about. All of the locations reflected the vibe we were after – my love for flowers and David’s love for hunting down the best Perth bakeries. Emma Smart Videography (Emma and Jake) filmed our wedding and they were both absolute legends! Mikelah Jayde StudioI cannot even put into words how amazingly talented she is. The Wildflower Perth, Tiffany Keal Creative Studio – every little detail was breathtaking – and I could write an essay on how amazing her grazing board was. Besk Bar and Tp & Co. There was nothing that we asked they weren’t happy to assist with.”
