We love an amazing wedding, obvs – but we really love to see one come together so perfectly in such a short time! Seven months after the proposal, to be precise, proving that it doesn’t have to take years to curate your dream day. “We did a lot of our research online, through word of mouth and, of course, purchased a few Hello May magazines!” shares the bride, who admits,  “All the vendors I ended up booking were absolutely amazing.” Some of our faves were Emma MacAulay Photography (on pics), Karen Willis Holmes (who is responsible for the gown, of course) along with earrings from The Whole Bride, South West Event Studio (boasting a bunch of hire items for the day) and let’s not forget Sea and Paper Creative Studio (who helped with loads, from printing the invites to providing the wishing well). Scroll down for all the details…

FAVE DETAILSThis is an incredibly hard question as everything turned out so beautifully! If I had to say ONE thing though it would have to be the flowers. Kara (from Rose + Bud) did an amazing job bringing our vision to life and my bouquet was to die for! Oh also the food, wine and cake! We visited Cullen Wines on a few occasions in the lead-up to the wedding. Their new Chef (Charlie) allowed us to create our dream menu from local and seasonal ingredients and the most heavenly of wines to pair with the food.”

DIYI (Em) designed all of the printed material (invites, signage, name cards etc), and collected most of the shells used on the tables. I had preserved and dyed boxes of flowers to be used at the ceremony and I made my own stone slabs/ sign holders to use under the candles and for the menus on the tables from a tile from Bunnings. My Aunty made the bonboneries – an Italian tradition of five sugar-coated almonds that represent health, wealth, happiness, fertility, and long life. She added a Chocolate Truffle heart and the silk ribbon and dried flowers from Sea and Paper Creative Studio.”

THE DRESSSurprisingly my dress was one of the easiest parts of arranging the entire wedding. My cousin was visiting the Perth Karen Willis Holmes boutique from Melbourne and initially, I was mainly going to see her and have some fun trying on wedding dresses for the first time. Well, the very first dress I put on was the one I ended up choosing…I couldn’t believe it!”

MEMORABLE MOMENTI felt extremely blessed to have my step-dad (Pete) walk me from the car to my dad (Steve) who was waiting with our dog (Hiccup). It was such a beautiful way to include all the special men in my life. Having Hiccup in the wedding was such a huge factor for us. We’ve had him since we were 18. He really is like our first born so it was a no-brainer to have him as our best man.”

WE WISH WE…Had gotten a videographer. At the time we had some last-minute expenditures so we decided we didn’t need one, but now looking back we do wish that we had our vows, speeches, the Zorba dance, etc, recorded.”

STANDOUT VENDORSDefinitely Kara (Rose + Bud), Cullen Wines and Emma MacAulay Photography. These vendors took so much time out of their busy schedules to meet with us, speak with us on the phone, reassure us everything was on track, and were basically just delightful humans. We would honestly consider them friends after this.”
