Carlin first went looking for love on The Bachelorette before finding his person Emily and proposing on a weekend away down the south coast. Suited up in Theodore, Carlin and Emily made it official at Dunes Palm Beach in front of just over 50 guests, and their mate Paul Golbach Photography captured some pretty spesh pics from the swish soiree. THE INSPO “One of our favourite quotes is by Leonardo Da Vinci ‘Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication’. So from the get-go we had our own hashtag #keepitsimple, which we reminded ourselves of regularly when deciding on the theme and decor for the big day. The whole lead-up was actually so seamless. Emily is an Excel spreadsheet whizz and from the get go she was on top of everything.”
THE SUIT “The overall experience at Theodore was incredible. They offer a personalised service in store, first getting my measurements and then helping me decide on EVERY detail of the suit! The style, the fabric, the cut, the pattern or even print on the inside of the jacket. Embroidering on the shirt, the jacket and/or the cuff, everything was optional. I’ve never worn a suit that was this comfortable, this well-fitted and looked this sharp.”
THE DRESS “I had already chosen a different dress after trying on a fair few, which were all really nice, but I never felt like it was a show-stopping moment. Though, just before making a purchase, my sister who works at The Ivory Room sent me an image of a new dress that had come in, and I fell in love. I tried it on the next day and immediately knew it would be my dress! The original make had long sleeves, which I removed to make it strapless, gathered the top materials so it flowed nicely, and added eyelet buttons down the back of the dress. I’m still so obsessed.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Honestly, just enjoy the process! Make it fun with a glass of wine in hand, and try to relax. It’s one day. Focus more on the marriage that will be for the rest of your life! Also keep a budget tracker.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “Had everyone light sparklers at the end of the night in the shape of an arch to exit us! The videos turned out incredible.”
