Emily and Tyson were clear on what they wanted for their wedding from the get-go: “Inner-city, chic, modern vibes. Nothing traditional (no first dance, no cake cutting),” they tell us. “We love a party, good food and good wine. So they were must-haves.” They confidently turned that vision into a reality, and had a darn good time making it happen. They were also lucky enough to snag Melbourne Entertainment Company for tunes and the wonderful Dee from Finder Seeker to capture the day in full. Scroll down to catch it all for yourself…

THE VENUE “Right from the start we knew we wanted a bit more of a cocktail party. We wanted inner city (as that’s where we have spent a lot of our relationship and live) and we wanted to be able to have the ceremony and reception in the same place. We looked at maybe two or three other venues before Siglo, but knew it would be a frontrunner from the start.”

THE SUIT “Suits were all from Oscar Hunt. We (myself and three groomsmen) had three fittings over a six-week period. I have had suits made from there before and its always a great experience. They really know what they are doing and work with you to create exactly what you are after. Not to mention you can have a beer while getting fitted! My suit was double breasted as a point of difference. Em and I knew we wanted to have it a little more formal so the bowties were a no-brainer.”

REFERENCES “We had a pretty clear picture of what we wanted the day to look like, which really helped. I imagine it would be so overwhelming not knowing where to start and how to narrow the search down. Hello May, of course, stalking Siglo’s Instagram. I really loved the idea of finding vendors who knew the space – word-of-mouth is the best because no one would recommend someone they didn’t love.”

MEMORABLE MOMENT “Our ceremony in general – to hear all the words we had said to our celebrant Alex (For the Love Celebrancy) be brought to life in this beautiful story about us was honestly awesome. And the vows. We wrote them ourselves so to hear each others on the day was very special too.”

STANDOUT VENDOR “We felt completely at ease with our vendors from the get-go. Dee, our photographer (Finder Seeker Photography) just completely and utterly got us. She managed to get some seriously magical pics in a short time frame (we really didn’t want to miss the party) and handled the chaos of it all with ease! Again, so many people have said how amazing the photos are… to which we reply, ‘WE KNOW!'”
