“Simple, no fuss and really effing fun” – that was the brief for creatives, Erica and Tom, who met on Tinder and got married in this cool as heck Sydney ceremony. But don’t just believe us, friends. Simply take one look at the catures by The Salty Shutter and you can see for yourselves that the couple got exactly what they were after on their big day. Scroll down for all…

FAVE DEETS “The flowers (by Sophia Kaplan) brought an elegance and naturalness to the moody room, while the posters, designed (by Harry Vincent) to match the branding of Mary’s and to look like a music gig poster, were hung around the venue giving it a sense of occasion and excitement.”

THE DRESS “I went to about four bridal showrooms before I found Tania at Perfect Day Bridal. Most places wanted to combine their designs to make a dress that resembled my sketch, but I knew it had to be exactly right, and Catherine R Couture and Tania finally made it happen! I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! Sarah from Sarah’s Dressmaking and Alterations was also pivotal in the final touches, and was so patient and kind with my wildly specific requests!”

LITTLE LOL “We left getting the menus and poster printed until the last minute because things were still changing a few weeks out. It wasn’t until the morning of the wedding when my friend arrives from picking up the menus and said, ‘I didn’t know the wedding was last month.’ Yep. Got the date wrong on the menus and posters. Nothing could be done so we laughed it off. At at the end of the day who cares?”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Decide on the three things that are important above all else to each of you and focus on making those things amazing. If one of those things isn’t favours for the guests, don’t kill yourself over them. If you don’t care what car you rock up in, get a fancy Uber. It’s your wedding and you choose to make it stressful.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “The absolute stand out for us was The Salty Shutter. Dane is a storytelling master who brought such an excited, energetic and loving vibe to the day. Your photographer is right there with you during the most intimate and memorable moments of your life, so you need someone who respects that on a personal level and a technical level. Honourable mention goes to Hot Potato Band. They were the entertainment highlight of the night and they’re the first thing that friends and family mention when we’ve talked to them about our wedding. There was not a still body in the house. Epic.”
