These two have career game, guys. “I am a product developer for Bared Footwear,” says the bride, who wore a Prea James Bridal gown, sheer jacket and shoes she designed herself. The groom? “In E-commerce at Mondelez, who own snacking brands including Cadbury. I am pretty sure it was a key selling point for Georgie when she first met me!” They got engaged in Iceland after what can only be described as one heck of a dreamy day, complete with the proposal at sunset in -14 degree weather and you can read all about their wedding day below, as well as see the gorgeous pics by one of our faves, Madeline Kate…

THE VENUE “We knew we wanted a wedding at a winery with a rustic, less polished vibe, which matches our personality. The Farm Yarra Valley felt like a destination venue, despite being only 30 minutes from the city and we liked the fact that the ceremony and reception could be in one location.”

THE INSPO “Relaxed and intimate, with a touch of party on the side. We loved incorporating aspects of international weddings we have been to – the limbo stick and shots of tequila came from our friend’s wedding in Mexico. We also [wanted] to shake things up a little bit by not doing things in the traditional order – we did our first dance on the lawn straight after the ceremony.”

FAVE DETAILS “The photos that we did for our guests instead of name cards – that was a great convo starter. The flowers by When Frankie Met George exceeded our expectations as we let Aimee use her creativity to create the aesthetic. She nailed it. The live music at the ceremony, extended cocktail hour and the d-floor.”

THE DRESS “I found the dress at Bluebell Bridal, a bridal shop that was a game-changer for me. I am not into the over the top consultations, where the conversation felt a little disingenuous and cringe. The dress and jacket are from Prea James Bridal, the belt is from Popovski. The belt added a bit more structure to the outfit and created a dress that felt different. I wanted something that was unique, despite its simplicity. The fabric used on the dress and jacket were beautiful and incredibly comfortable.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Be strict on what you want for the day, try to manage external influences, it’s your day after all – give less fucks on what other people think. And lean on your vendors – they’re the experts.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Madeline Kate and I met at a hostel in Portugal (and travelled together) back in 2015 and the rest is history. I’ve followed her career and watched her grow from London. She was the first vendor we booked. Sam (of New Age Films) – an all-around legend. On the day he brought the best energy and was super organised and interested in our story in the lead up to. Natalie Drum matched our energy and was the right person to tell our story. She was an incredible support in the lead up to the day. So kind, selfless and helpful. Aimee (When Frankie Met George) had worked at The Farm Yarra Valley before and was just an all-around joy to work with. Jo & Rita – Singers and DJ. Absolute talents. Chill vibes. Good vibes. Great people. And Dani Cousens and Hair By Ashlea.”
