This couple couldn’t get much cuter. They’ve been a couple for over seven years and tell us that “marriage means being able to share your life with the person who makes you truly feel like yourself. Being able to laugh and cry together and also supporting each other undoubtedly.” Too darn right, guys. They tied the knot at one of our fave venues in Byron, with Love Her Wild behind the lens. THE VENUE “We knew we wanted a venue that was charming and quaint and having both previously worked in the wedding catering business we were familiar with a lot of local venues. As soon as saw Ewingsdale Hall and its beautiful fig tree-lined street, we knew it was the one.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “Alex’s sister made a slideshow which was a wonderful and heartfelt surprise. Also, without us knowing our MC Carly asked guests if they wanted to do a speech, so we had some surprise speeches which were absolutely lovely to hear!”
THE DRESS “I had a vague idea of the kind of dress I wanted. Definitely something with lace. Im originally from the Hunter Valley, so went home so I could take my Mum and sister dress shopping with me. Newcastle Bridal House was the first boutique we went to. And its true what they say- I tried on lots of different styles but always came back to the first dress. It was the only one that I could see myself walking down the aisle in.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “Absolute favourite moment for me was seeing Alex standing at the arbour as I walked down the aisle. I felt pure love and happiness. Also, as my mum was walking me down the aisle, my sister drove us all to the hall, but on the way we made an impromptu stop at Coolamon Scenic lookout and took some photos, definitely a moment with them I will treasure.”
CUTE CUSTOM “My Father, who passed when I was younger, was definitely there in spirit. Being a daughter you always envision your father walking you down the aisle, but to have my mum be that person for me on the day was so special and something that I will always be grateful for.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “I’m really glad we got professionals to do the music and the lighting. We were originally just going to do it all ourselves but having someone take care of it was just one less thing we had to worry about.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Who did you connect with? Who went above and beyond? Our caterers, JoeChef were amazing. They made sure everything ran to a tee on the day and the staff were absolute professionals. Lauren, from Love Her Wild photography was absolutely brilliant. Alex and I are both a bit camera shy and she made us feel so natural and at ease. And our celebrant Clare Jarrett of Clare the Celebrant. We instantly felt comfortable with Clare and she is so joyful and warm we couldn’t have had anyone else be our celebrant.”
