We love a good Tinder success story, and even more so when it has a twist- like knowing each other from the local supermarket before matching. “Joey was working at the supermarket packing shelves and I used to love going grocery shopping to check out the cute guy,” explains Jade. “We were both too shy to ever say anything, but then swiped right on the famous Tinder and matched!” Inseparable ever since, they tied the knot two-and-a-half years later in an intimate elopement in the Blue Mountains. Lensed by HM directory vendor Joel from Barefoot & Bearded, you can take a look for yourself.

THE PROPOSAL We travelled to New Zealand for our second year anniversary, and went to Mt Hutt Ski Resort to attempt snowboarding. After a big day of falling on our butts, just before we were leaving, we made snow angels. I stood up to go to the car (because it was freezing!) and Joey asked me to turn around. There he was, on one knee, asking me to marry him.

THE VIBE The Blue Mountains were the perfect location for us. After getting engaged at the top of a mountain we wanted to tie the knot the same way. We are both very shy people, so we never wanted a large wedding. We believe getting married should be about the two people, not everyone else. And after discovering the Anteloping team, it was just so amazing that we could make it adventurous and get married on the edge of a cliff. We had six of our closest family members share the day with us and it was perfect.

THE DRESS I’m someone that doesn’t spend a lot of money on any clothing item, and my wedding dress was no exception. I’d never been in a bridal shop and still haven’t! I knew the design I wanted, so I just Googled websites until I found the perfect one. I ended up finding my dress on DHgate. I was a little unsure whether the site was legit, but took a chance. My dress arrived in the mail a few weeks later and it was perfect! No alterations had to be made and I had my dream wedding dress.

REFERENCES Google! I was Googling Newcastle photographers and found Joel from Barefoot & Bearded, which lead to finding Anteloping. After looking through photos and videos of what these guys create (and shedding a few tears!) we knew that’s what we wanted for our special day.

MARRIAGE MEANS… Making my man a cuppa every morning for the rest of my life and him never saying no to puppies! Lol. But on a serious note, a promise between two people that want to spend the rest of their lives together- through the bad, as well as the good times- always willing to work things out.

A WORD OF ADVICE Do exactly what YOU want to do. Make your day magical, so when the day is over, you have no regrets.

WE’RE GLAD WE… Eloped and had the Anteloping team! We are also glad we had an amazing photographer and cinematographer. These memories will be cherished forever and these guys captured it perfectly!
