Oh Lordy. Where do we even start with this dazzling day? Meet Millie and Jessi, two ladies with a passion for digital strategy and content creation. With the help of an epic team of vendors, many who donated their products as part of a competition celebrating the legalisation of same-sex marriage, these two pulled off something special. Rife with glorious details, we are head over heels for the grungy pink colour palette, signage that speaks to us on a spiritual level and super extra tiered baby pink cake (courtesy of Miss Ladybird Cakes). We are thanking our lucky stars that the lovely Sofia of Enchanted Wedding Photography was present to capture each and every delicious detail. Scroll down for the goods…

THE VIBE “We gave Shonel from Nomad Styling an idea of the type of vibes we wanted. She took those ideas and put them together in a styling concept. Boy, did she deliver! We wanted something that wasn’t too traditional, a bit trashy and that celebrated femininity without being too girly.”

DIY “Instead of having a wishing well, we wanted to create a fun way for our guests to donate money. We bought old arcade games and filled them with weird and fun prizes and drinks vouchers. All the money collected went towards our IVF fund.”

FAVOURITE MOMENT “Before the wedding, we honestly thought the best bit would be drinking and having fun. We never imagined that the ceremony would actually be by far the best part of our day. Jo Betz, our celebrant, was one of the kindest, funniest and most humble people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Jessi, in particular, was incredibly nervous about the ceremony portion of the day but she completely put us at ease and helped us create a service that was laid back and funny and that kept with our values. We also loved the fact that our dogs, Moo and Rain, were involved in the ceremony. Shout out to the amazing Wedding Paws and The Warehouse for being so accommodating.”

LITTLE LOL “On the morning of the wedding I decided to be a “good wife” and steam Jessi’s outfit for her. The Iron was faulty and I ended up burning a HUGE whole in her outfit just 4 hours before we were due to walk down the aisle. Luckily, I knew which shop she had purchased it from so I called them and they had another in stock. I sent my mum in an uber to collect it before Jessi ever noticed. She didn’t even know till the speeches later that night!”

WE’RE GLAD WE “I am really glad that we arranged a tattoo artist to tattoo our rings and our guests on the day. I think it was something really unique and it also means that our ‘wedding rings’ will always be with us.”

WE WISH WE “Our only regret from the whole experience is that we didn’t plan a honeymoon after the wedding. Planning a wedding is more stressful than you imagine!”

STANDOUT VENDORS “So many to mention… but if we had to pick we would say Nomad Styling because she was an absolute miracle worker. She pulled everything together and made our whole wedding day completely and utterly “us”. Also, Sofia of Enchanted Wedding Photography because our photos of the day are something that we will continue to look at and love for the rest of our lives together.”
