After meeting through the “OG dating app, Tinder” over seven years ago, Jo and Michael were forced to postpone their wedding twice due to Covid before getting their party. But, eventually, party they sure did – the legends at Melbourne Entertainment Co made sure of it, keeping the dance floor raging all night long, while superstar Sarah Godenzi snapped some incredible pics. Scroll down to see her handiwork, after diving into what the newlyweds shared below…

THE VENUE “We wanted to maximise time on the day and have both the ceremony and reception at the same venue. Cadella Park was the first we saw. We loved it from the beginning but felt like we needed to see more to compare and be sure it was the right choice. After seeing around 20 venues nothing compared, so we locked it in! With the venue so close to Kyneton we were able to build a weekend from the wedding date and create extra memories. There is so much to explore in the Macedon Ranges and we love that we can revisit these in the future.”

LITTLE LOL “Being the animal lover she is, Jo initially wanted to incorporate as many animals into the wedding as possible. One of her more ambitious ideas was to train ducks to walk down the aisle ahead of us. We did get two pet ducks in the lead up to the wedding.. suffice to say training them to do anything was overly ambitious and (sadly) no ducks featured at the wedding.”

REFERENCES “We have piles of Hello May magazines and wedding specials, dog-eared and highlighted. They are currently being used to press the wedding bouquets, we have that many! These were really helpful to get ideas for styling and research vendors. I would read up on Real Weddings and research vendors through what others previously used.”

MEMORABLE MOMENT ” The ceremony. We had no idea what our celebrant Zena Lythgo would highlight during the ceremony so our reactions were just as raw as the guests and it helped us feel more connected in the moment. It was a rollercoaster of laughter and tears, sprinkled with some rain.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Every vendor we had was outstanding! To highlight some, Sarah Godenzi our photographer is a total superstar! She did our engagement photoshoot so we already knew she’d find a way to make us look good. Jaaz our DJ from Melbourne Entertainment Co was fantastic – he timed our entrance song with the wedding party so perfectly it was unforgettable. The dance floor was full of energy right up until our last song. We were able to extend our time for longer and all our vendors were flexible and stayed, we couldn’t get enough!”
