Having a shipwright as a fiancé is handy when organising your wedding. He has the skills to build the ceremony seating, DJ booth, lectern and all the lighting, as David did for him and his gorgeous bride’s wedding. From the proposal (where David hid Jodie’s ring in a shell on a beach) to their whimsical wedding day, the couple spent just seven months seeing to every detail and hand making a large part of it. LITTLE LOL “Apart from the fact I didn’t have a dress three weeks out, or that I went to pick up my wedding band the week before and they had lost my order (my band was custom made in two days), everything else was smooth sailing! Haha!”
THE VENUE “We got married at Yelverton Grove, our friend Jason and Kelly’s property. We could not have dreamt of a more perfect venue. It is completely divine and we are so lucky to have had our wedding there.”
THE VIBE “Our wedding theme was neutral with all kinds of whimsical, moody vibes. I was very certain that I wanted every single aspect to look as though it was supposed to be there. We wanted everything to look as natural and organic as possible… Hence all the dried flowers!”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “Our flowers! They truly were absolute magic! I felt like I had walked into my own private wonderland. And our ridiculously fabulous The Sweet Life sign.”
THE DRESS “Where do I even begin, Made With Love and Soul Sisters are beyond incredible. They literally saved me! I originally chose my dress from a bridal boutique in Fremantle two weeks after we got engaged. Unfortunately, three weeks before our wedding day I picked up that dress. It was not what I had chosen at all. Different fabric, different skirt, different straps. Completely shocking! So there I was with 21 days to go and no dress! I called Soul Sisters the next morning and they, along with Made With Love, moved heaven and earth to get me the wedding dress of my dreams. Within 10 days my dress had arrived. Everything really does happen for a reason.”
