Josie & Matt’s wedding day was a celebration of the equal partnership they have maintained for over eight years, ever since meeting through mutual friends at university, and what a celebration it was! Wild florals and fresh fruit featured throughout whilst thoughtful details were front and centre. Matt donned a rather delightful Oscar Hunt Tailors tux whilst Josie scored herself an Australian sapphire Cushla Whiting Jewellery ring. Lush, huh? We sure think so! THE VIBE “Matthew has Italian heritage so we wanted to bring in some Italian inspired elements to the day – limoncello shots, espresso martinis, beautiful lush citrus and red roses, and an epic Italian inspired feast! We just wanted our guests to have fun and tried to keep the day really informal. We even had a treasure hunt after the ceremony which brought out a few competitive edges…..”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “We adored our flowers, Katie and Leila [Katie Marx Flowers] went to an enormous effort to build a grand, lush and layered landscape that was otherworldly. You could almost imagine sitting on a terrace on the Amalfi coast, with lemons and oranges everywhere. My bouquet was lovely and made up of smokey pale mauve delphinium from a local flower grower.”
FAVOURITE MOMENTS “Jess, our photographer, was so great at ensuring we had some special moments for ourselves throughout the day. We’ll always remember standing in Katie’s epic smokebush at the peak of its flowering right after we got married, with the sun streaming down.”
LITTLE LOL “In retrospect, handing out lighted sparklers to 110 tipsy people was not our finest idea, but thankfully there was no major harm done!”
WE’RE GLAD WE “The night before the wedding we had everyone over to The Bridge Hotel in Castlemaine for a relaxed dinner and catchup. The morning after we had a picnic breakfast in the Castlemaine botanic gardens. This was a great opportunity for people to meet, mingle and reflect on the good times had by all!”
