THE VENUE “We had never been to a wedding at Stones Of The Yarra Valley but we have heard it is one of the best venues. It was an immediate and no-brainer of a decision. We love it there – especially because chapel, reception, and mini-hotel are on the same property. Kub and I appreciate ease and no fuss.”
THE INSPO “Sassafras Flower Design asked me a similar question. She asked for five keywords that would describe the day I wanted, because I couldn’t describe my desired theme. Something classic, romantic, fun, ‘extra’ and beautiful.”
FAVE DETAILS “The team at Sassafras Flower Design did an impeccable job of executing the floral arrangements I wanted. The floral arbour and hanging installation were the key statements in the room. Also, the cake!”
MEMORABLE MOMENTS “The entire wedding was such an emotional one. The speeches moved the entire room. There were some memories shared about the time when I (Kub) lost my brother in 2012. Julia was in India at the time and heard of the news. As soon as she flew home, she made Polish dumplings (Pierogis) and drove them all the way to Newcastle for my family. I think my family fell in love with her at that moment, and so did I.
LITTLE LOL “Sadly, both my Maid of Honour and Kub’s Best Man could not be at the Wedding. Both were stuck in the UK. Rather than replacing their position in the bridal party, they proceeded with their speeches via Zoom on a projector. Even the Best Man was partying on the dance floor through the laptop. He had suit attire on the top, and boxer shorts on the bottom – in true zoom meeting fashion. It was hilarious!”
MARRIAGE MEANS… “Marriage feels like a team. Kub and I always lived very independent lives, and now we are playing for the same team. Career achievement was previously the number one goal in our lives, and now we have each other to put first. It is truly life-changing and enriching! We love it.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Don’t have a long engagement! Don’t waste your time lining up a million photographers, florists, venues etc for your big day, just go with you gut and make fast decisions. You’ll enjoy the journey better.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Ashleigh Haase, our photographer was incredible. She really made us feel comfortable and gave us direction from the moment she walked through the door. She was our timekeeper so that we could enjoy and treasure the real moments. We had 45 minutes to accomplish portrait shots in the vineyards before we lost sunlight, and Ash knew exactly what to do. She keeps things relaxed but she is also an operator; very professional! It is just a bonus that her work is also ridiculously good. I cannot recommend her enough.”
