Katie and Gus were engaged for two years, which was a tad longer than they anticipated but they got a super cute bub out of it. Win-win, right? Whilst Katie wanted to tie the knot in Las Vegas, her other half was a little less keen on the notion. Cue their glamorous ‘touch of Vegas’ country wedding minus Elvis the celebrant. FAVOURITE DETAILS “Our wedding flowers were absolutely to die for. Emily, my stylist, worked closely with Rach from Botanica Bird who has the most incredible flair and I just love what they came up with together. I told Emily the colours I wanted and a rough idea of where I wanted the flowers displayed and together the girls worked their magic to design and create breathtaking arrangements.”
THE DRESS “I found a dress that I just kept coming back to. I absolutely loved it. I found a supplier of that brand of the dress on the Gold Coast. Unfortunately when I turned up and showed her a picture of what I wanted she said that I had chosen a dress from Pinterest and they didn’t stock that style. She said it would take months to get it in, their next shipment date being after our wedding. I was quite determined to get that dress though so I did a google search with the dress name and there was one for sale in a bridal shop in Northern Ireland. I contacted La Boda Bridal and they were the most helpful girls and said they would happily send it over to Australia. I was taking quite a big risk, having not actually tried the dress on and choosing a style that was quite revealing in that it was so plain with nowhere to hide anything. My dress got held up by customs and sent back to Northern Ireland but there was still two months until the wedding so I held out hope that all would be ok. The girls were yet again amazing and resent it back to me free of charge. One week later I had my dream wedding dress.”
FAVOURITE MOMENT “We absolutely loved having all of our family and friends in one place. We loved how relaxed the whole day was. In the midst of a drought, it ended up raining on our wedding day. We had an outdoor ceremony, so of course, I was feeling a little nervous that we would be completely rained out but what can you do? No point letting it ruin the day. We were blessed with a break in the rain, just long enough to get through the ceremony. Five minutes after the ceremony we all had to bolt back up to the marquee and seek cover. Whilst this was not in our plan, I think it relaxed everyone and we all just had a fun evening.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Get a stylist/wedding planner. Emily from YWC Productions was our saving grace on more than one occasion! Enjoy your day and don’t let things that are out of your control ruin your day.”

She pulled the whole thing together for us and made our vision a reality. Relish Catering provided us with exceptional food. Everyone raved about it. A1 Hire went above and beyond and kept us sane through the planning process. Not only did they provide the equipment but they guided us every step of the way when deciding on what to hire. Botanica Bird created the most breathtaking floral arrangements. Jess, our celebrant made us feel so comfortable at our ceremony. It was natural, relaxed and memorable for our guests.”
