For Katie and Tom, “classic and timeless” was the vibe they were going for on their big day, and we have to say, they definitely nailed it. “All in all [we wanted] relaxed-style wedding where there wasn’t a strict process to the day,” they tell us of the epic weekend-long event in the gorg Gold Coast hinterland.

Every detail was  brilliantly taken care of by an amazing team of vendors, from the incredible blooms by Mrs Gibbons Flowers right down to the confetti and ring boxes from The Whole Bride. And how about those pics?! Pretty bloody beaut, right? We have Renee Green Creative to thank for that visual goodness (she’s a top one, trust us). Get scrolling to check them all out!

THE VENUE “We always wanted to have a wedding where we could go away with our closest family and friends for a whole weekend, not just the 1 night. Gold Coast Farm House is one of only a handful of venues that are able to do this and the moment we stepped foot on the property we knew it was the place for us. We both love the Gold Coast hinterland and this is the quintessential hinterland farm.”

THE VIBE “We just wanted to have a wedding under the stars, with a more relaxed cocktail style seating arrangement where guests could move around, mingle with whoever they want and not be stuck in an assigned seat for the whole night. We wanted to choose our own drinks and have full control, rather than have something set.”

FAVE DETAILS “Absolutely the flowers and arbour from Mrs Gibbons Flowers were an arrangement that almost every guest was stunned by when they first arrived. Also, having Mr. Consistent cocktails for all of our guests, all night. From the weddings we have been to there usually aren’t cocktails so for a group of primarily 25-40-year-olds, this was a real hit!”

THE DRESS “My dress was from Ella Moda in Brisbane. It was definitely not the style of dress I thought I would wear but I think it really suited the location and style of the wedding. The experience at Ella Moda was amazing, every fitting was perfect and the attention to the tiniest details is incredible. Claire from Ella Moda made the experience one to remember.”

REFERENCES “Not long after we got engaged i remember heading down to the newsagent to buy some wedding magazines to use as inspiration for our wedding. I got a lot of vendors from Hello May magazine, as well as on the blog. I also used instagram a lot – I had seen so much of our florist, Mrs Gibbons Flowers, on Instagram and knew i really needed her for our day!”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “We are so glad that we had a wedding weekend. The actual wedding was on the Saturday and a lot of our guests stayed in glamping that we had set up at the venue for one or two nights. The day after the wedding, we continued the party and had a dress-up recovery day, which was so much fun and gave us more time to spend with our guests. On the wedding day it was really hard to spend time with everyone so this was perfect for us.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Our celebrant, Jake Newell from Janda Events, was on a whole other level. A number of our guests told us he was the best they had ever seen and the way he made us feel on the day was truly legendary. Our photographer, Renee Green Creative,  was also amazing and we got along so well with her. It was like she was one of our close friends.”

Renee Green Creative’s directory listing is definitely one you want to hit up if you’re still on the lookout for a fab photographer, Mrs Gibbons Flowers is a must for all things floral, and for all those little details (like biodegradable confetti – win!), check out The Whole Bride’s directory listing.
