These two London-based lovebirds hit the six-year mark the day before their wedding and culminated it in this stellar inner city ceremony and reception at none other than  Glasshaus (inside and outside). Don’t miss a few key details – the bride’s Karen Willis Holmes gown, the groom’s M.J. Bale shirt and pants, the jewellery made by the bride herself and THAT cake and jacket. Lucky for us, Georgia Verrells Photography was there to document the day and you can find it all below…

THE VENUEGlasshaus as soon as we found it online felt instantly like us, it’s the only one we saw and we knew as soon as we locked eyes on it, it was 100% it was perfect.”

THE VIBE “There was no one inspiration. Lizzie growing up in Melbourne, spending much of her formative years in the inner suburbs loves the juxtaposition between nature and urban, that is quintessentially Melbourne. Bobby was the same, a passionate lover of semi-industrial with ‘nature reclaiming’ we knew we needed a place that gave that vibe. Time spent with our loved ones means the most to us, so having a wedding that allowed us to spend quality time with the ones we love the most was so important to us.”

FAVE DEETS “The flowers were honestly AMAZING. Paul from Glasshaus understood exactly what I wanted and they were simply divine, one of my favourite details. Absolutely nailed the brief. The Torte by Mirjana cake was also a massive hit. The three tiers and the design were all so beautiful, not to mention the flavours! The flowers on the cake were also outstanding, absolutely loved it.”

DIY “Lizzie made not only the wedding rings but her earrings and the bridesmaids’ earrings, so our house was definitely a jewellery workshop leading up to the big day. In hindsight, I should have started making everything earlier because I did leave it right down to the wire (even with an extra year to plan due to Covid delays, go figure), however, was so proud and excited by what I had created.”

THE DRESS “I never really liked wedding dresses, so finding something that I actually liked was a challenge. But I went to a specialist curve bridal boutique in London and had the most wonderful experience, and as fate would have it ended up with an Australian Designer’s Dress [Karen Willis Holmes]. I love simple and classic, with a modern twist. Where detail is for those with a keen eye. I also wanted to bring in something fun and “loud”, hence the jacket – a surprise for everyone that just screamed Lizzie.”

REFERENCES “We were extremely lucky being able to lock in our number one choice across all vendor categories, our amazing vendors really made our day that bit more special. Also following the advice we received early on to prioritise locking in those vendors that can only do one wedding a day then book the vendors that can do multiples closer to the day (e.g cake and florist).”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “Didn’t do an entrance at our reception. Instead, we were there waiting for our guests and got to greet every single person. It was really special and added to the intimacy of the day.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Honestly Georgia Verrells Photography was the MVP of all our suppliers (and that is saying something!). She made us so relaxed and comfortable, really captured the love we feel for each other, and her enthusiasm was infectious! Georgia is obviously talented, her work speaks for itself – in fact, I don’t think I’ve ever looked so good! But what you don’t see in the photos is just how amazing she is to have with you on your day. Georgia set the day off perfectly beforehand by talking us through the plan, asking us for our vibe and what would be successful for us. She guided us on questions when we didn’t know the answer, by showing us the pros for each. This resulted in photos that matched not only our own style, but energy, that permeated throughout the day. It felt like we had a friend who had known both of us since childhood, who kept us on track, who bought out the best in our day and helped capture our most treasured day. The ceremony was such a highlight as well – our celebrant, Married by Damon, was phenomenal. And Locky from Tango Films was also wonderful. That level of awesomeness, talent, energy, and skill speaks for itself in the wedding film. We will treasure it.”
