This crazy in love couple had only been together for two months before Dan proposed on Lou’s birthday. “It was perfect, we were in love and we knew it was right,” reveals the bride. Fast-forward 18 months and a few of our favourite vendors were there to make this day special. Red Berry Photography and Makeup by Meganwe’re looking at you! It was ANZAC Day and yes, Two-up was played (of course!) and rosemary was used in the place settings “in memory of my grandfather and all the ANZACS who fought for our country,” adds Lou. Special is an understatement, right?

THE VENUE We loved how different it was and being married in the bush on Anzac Day felt so uniquely Australian. Dan pictured a rowdy game of Two-up on the Sunset Deck as soon as we saw it, which is exactly what we got! The bush setting inspired the flowers and foliage- natives and gum.

THE DRESS It was last minute because I was pregnant with our son Levi six months before the wedding. Hope X Page was the first and only boutique I went to. I loved my dress as soon as I put it on- it made me feel comfortable and like myself again- exactly what I wanted after having a baby. I connected with Alex from Hope X Page over babies and our previous lives in the fashion industry. She made the experience of finding my dress so relaxed and enjoyable.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS Seeing each other just before the ceremony was a highlight. I had Levi with me so I could breastfeed and Dan came to collect him from where the girls and I were getting ready. His groomsmen came too and we all had a drink together which calmed everyone’s nerves.

A WORD OF ADVICE… Keep it small (not easy but, be ruthless!). We loved that we got the chance to really connect with all of our guests, which wouldn’t have been possible if we had more people.

REFERENCES I found Makeup by Megan online and she recommended Mane & Tales and Hope X Page.

STANDOUT VENDORS Everyone one put in a massive effort to make the day special. Flowers By Anissa interpreted my brief perfectly-creating the stunning bouquets and centrepiece arrangements. She also ordered boxes of flowers and foliage, so we could handle the reception arrangements ourselves. The music duo did an awesome job, they learnt our aisle and registry signing songs beautifully and sounded incredible.
