“We’ve been together for about three and a half years now,” says this super stylish couple. “Classic modern day romance, we met on Tinder.” We couldn’t love it more and their fun filled wedding was something we simply couldn’t skip past. The venue, the blooms and the chic cake (by Stacy Brewer Cakes, no less) were something else. Salt Ataleir were the photographers responsible for the epic pics you see below. So scroll down for all…

LITTLE LOL “My brother took a week off before his wedding and we thought we wouldn’t need that long because how much could there be left to do by that point? We only took a couple of days off before the wedding and it was definitely not long enough! We ended up writing our speech late the night before. We also realised we hadn’t prepared for our first dance and had to learn how to dance in the hotel courtyard without looking awkward with the help of our siblings. We looked awkward.”

THE VENUEAthol Hall Mosman was actually the first place we looked at. The second we walked in it just felt right. It has the most beautiful view across the harbour and we could have our ceremony on site. The building itself is really cute – a heritage hall with all wood painted white. The staff on the night really took care of us and our guests.”

THE INSPO “We wanted to keep our wedding quite intimate and wanted people to feel like it was us when they walked in. We’re not over the top people so we tried to keep it understated but stylish. Athol Hall Mosman helped us achieve this with its breathtaking view and surrounding nature and we tried not to distract from that too much.”

FAVE DETAILS “It was the first gay wedding for most of our friends and family – and it was our first gay wedding too! Which was great – nobody knew what the expect and they have nothing to compare it to. So they don’t know if it was good or bad! We absolutely loved all of our wedding stationary by Pink Teapot. Kasey was so lovely to work with and so patient with us. Cairyn Jay, our musician, interpreted the songs we gave her so well. Her warm energy throughout the whole process just felt like working with a friend. Alice The Celebrant was fantastic to work with as well. She has this amazing ability to understand what an audience needs and delivers it effortlessly. Our MC, Mark Ayaad, really stole the show. His outfit was out of this world and his sense of humour is unlike anyone else. Mark is our best friend, so when he said he would love to be our MC we were stoked.”

THE SUITS “Our suits were from Institchu. We looked at a few different options but we liked the option of going with a classic black tuxedo. We thought this would be timeless and not age badly when we look back on the photos in 20 years! They were really easy to work with and make sure it fits how you want it and guarantee that by making alterations if anything doesn’t fit. The overall experience was really positive.”

MARRIAGE MEANS… Marriage to us means unconditional love. We had to fight for the right to be able to marry so it’s not something we take lightly. It means so much more to have gone through everything we did to get to this point.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Our advice for other couples planning a wedding would be to take time when choosing suppliers and ensure you’re on the same page. Don’t be afraid to speak up for what you want and if it doesn’t feel right, move on. Also, don’t think you’ve completed something by answering a few questions. Those answers will lead to 100 more questions over the next six months.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Our photographers, Salt Ataleir, really made our day. We’re really awkward in front of the camera but they made us feel comfortable on the day and worked so hard to capture everything without looking corny. It felt so natural and captured so many beautiful memories we didn’t even notice they were shooting!”
