With the talented bride on blooms, Megan & Dean’s big day was full of spesh personal details. A delightful autumnal theme set the tone whilst a few Hello May faves were there to ensure only good times were had. Alex Penton took care of hair and makeup whilst The Vintage Stylus spun tunes. THE VENUE “I’ve always loved The Grounds of Alexandria and always had my heart set on getting married there. I love the whole look of the venue, with the beautiful gardens and lighting and decor. I also liked that we could have the ceremony and reception in the same location so no travelling between the two on the day.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “One of my favourite details from the day was definitely our beautiful invites, signs and menus – all hand-designed by my friend Stephanie Baynie. She kind of set the whole colour scheme for the day with the colours she chose in the invites – Burgundy, burnt orange and olive green.”
DIY… “My mum hand dyed all of the table napkins for the reception with beautiful homemade natural dyes she made from plants and vegetables from her garden. We then just tied them with simple twine. After the wedding, she washed them all and made them into a quilt for us to keep.”
REFERENCES “Most of our key vendors were recommended through our other vendors. So our photographer Samantha Heather had recommended our celebrant Jessie Cachillo and then she recommended our Dj The Vintage Stylus. So it was great having so many personal recommendations from people in the industry.”
WE’RE GLAD WE “Organised to get someone professional to do the music. We were just going to do our own playlist and put it on shuffle but I’m glad we went and booked with The Vintage Stylus to do all the music.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “By far the most stand out vendor was our wonderful photographer Samantha Heather. She definitely went above and beyond. I’d found her through Instagram one night and thought I’d just message and see if she was available on our wedding date. Lucky for us she was and she always got back to us so promptly. Nothing was ever an issue and she is such a delight to deal with. Her photos are just so beautiful and you can see how much love she puts into all of her work.”
