Say hello to Mel and Adam, dear readers. This stylish duo (of course you’ve noticed that that dress, sharp as M.J. Bale suit and those Grew & Co rings) tied the knot on a public holiday in this gorgeous Sydney setting, with their cavoodle, Mochi, as a bridesmaid (complete with doggie corsage). Can you deal? Naturally, we know you will want to see more, so scroll down for all the pics from one of our fave photographers, Damien Milan

THE VENUE “We looked at a handful of different venues, but we have always loved The Apollo, it’s one of our favourites and Adam used to work for the group, so when the opportunity to have it at the Apollo came up, we knew it was the one. It felt like ‘us’,  and we knew we would be in good hands and that the food and drinks would be superb.”

THE INSPO “No real theme but the vision was garden party turns cocktail, and overall vibe was uplifting, togetherness and fun! We walked into the ceremony hand in hand. We just wanted everyone to feel the love and joy of the day.”

FAVE DETAILS “The flowers at the reception were incredible thanks to Datura Studio. Everyone commented on how The Apollo felt like a bush – like a wonderland – with these huge Australian native instalments. There were these massive red Gymea Lily’s that looked like a royal sceptre that everyone took on the dance floor and passed around at the end of the night! And of course the food! The Apollo put on an absolute wedding feast for us, including my favourite  – the Saganaki cheese!”

THE DRESS “My Cecilie Bahnsen dress was the first dress I looked at and I bought it right away online. I could not have been more in love with my dress. It was beautiful, comfortable, I could dance, twirl and eat in it – which was necessary for our wedding feast! An utter joy to wear! Finding the dress was the easiest part of the wedding planning process.”

REFERENCES “I found my photographer, Damien Milan, by searching for other weddings in Centennial Parklands for some inspo, and found them through Hello May.”

MEMORABLE MOMENTS “As my maid of honour could not make it (due to COVID restrictions) when her speech was read out it was extra emotional- I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Go with your gut, I made a lot of very quick decisions, and I felt that worked best. Of course do your research, be well prepared, but if it feels right, do it.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “Kept it relatively small and stayed true to our style and what we love. We kept the ceremony pretty short and prioritised the wedding feast and dance floor time!”
