THE VIBE “Coastal and bright was the overall inspiration for our day. Having both grown up on the Sunshine Coast, the Sunshine Beach Surf Life Saving Club was the perfect location for us. Getting married in the year of a global pandemic meant that we planned around 15 different versions of how the day could play out. Lucky for us, the day was relatively unaffected by restrictions but it did mean that a few of our very special guests from interstate and overseas were unable to be there, so we live-streamed the ceremony to family and friends in NSW, Victoria, WA, New Zealand, Hong Kong, France, UK.”
FAVE DETAILS “The two standouts were the flowers, my hair and the bridesmaids’ outfits. The flowers [by Sandi from Willow Bud] in our bouquets, the arbour and flowers at the reception were absolutely incredible and everything I had dreamed of. Evalyn Parsons was phenomenal – I just loved the bow in my hair. The bridesmaid dresses – I had hunted around for the perfect fabric for months and our incredible dressmaker Louise Bateman bought the styles to life, reflecting their personalities to make them feel beautiful and happy.”
THE DRESS “When I walked into Karen Willis Holmes in Brisbane I had a very good feeling I would find my perfect dress there. I tried on many dresses but the moment I tried on the Aisha dress, I fell in love and I knew it was the one. My Mum was crying so I knew that was a good sign! The dress combined the traditional look that I was hoping for with a fun and modern flair. I particularly loved the flower detail that the mesh created at the front of the dress and this also complimented the floral fabric I had picked for my bridesmaids’ dresses.”
REFERENCES “We found most of our key vendors through the Hello May blog and Hello May magazines, word of mouth from other friends who had been married recently and through many nights of scrolling Instagram and going down rabbit holes.”

From our first meeting over coffee in our planning phase to the end of the night on the dance floor they were just incredible. So personable, fun and talented – they bought so much joy to the day. Receiving our photos and wedding video just highlighted how professional and unbelievable the team are, as they captured our day perfectly – they even gave us five printed photos of the day at the end of the night with a beautiful card! Just amazing!”
