Engaged at Quaila (IYKYK) complete with a midnight skinny dip, these two have been a couple for four years (“and planning forevermore”), and can we just say – stylish to boot! They also organised their wedding within four weeks and we are here. for. it. “Sometimes being spontaneous and acting on your visions creates the most fluid experiences,” adds the bride. Photographer, Ali Bailey, and cinematographer, The White Tree, were responsible for snapping the day, so scroll down for everything you need to know (and see)…

THE VENUE “I took Petra to Lake House for a lunch on one of our first few dates, so this place always held a nostalgic value for us.”

THE INSPO “The words that we had in mind in order to create the experience we wanted were elegant, private, unique, moody and decadent… just like the two of us. We did not want a traditional big gown, princess wedding. We were set on producing a wedding that was relaxed and informal. An intimate party amongst our closest friends, of whom could simply enjoy!”

FAVE DEETS “Fitting to our setting, we had the gorgeous  Evangeline Victoria Music playing the violin, whilst enjoying our candlelit lunch. This elevated the atmosphere of the room and created the mood we were looking for. We had the lovely Deb (of Lake House) source the dark-coloured Calla Lilies and they just looked so stunning against my white silk gown. Deb also handmade the fantastic outside arbor, which we used as a centerpiece. Then the dark floral table decorations, which were all sourced from around the grounds of Lake House, added a beautiful contrast to the simple crisp white tablecloth we used. I must say the smell of the deep dark violet lilacs will forever remind me of our special day! Such a nice memory to have.”

THE DRESS “I wanted something classy and elegant, yet a little daring and playful. My style is definitely unconventional and I wanted to express that through the piece that I wore on the day. I absolutely loved the clean polished cut of the dress and the big fun satin bow set low on my bare back. I contacted Lillian Khallouf personally, to ask whether this piece could be custom-made within the month, and to my surprise, she was very excited and keen to make this happen. Her whole team was a dream to work with.”

MARRIAGE MEANS… “The truth is… we could go on for hours, getting lost in the poems that we write for each other and in the romance of it all. But to save us all some time, let’s just be cheeky and say that marriage is mostly just texting memes to each other from different rooms of the house and also asking each other every day ‘what do you want from uber eats’, probably until one of us dies. Haha.”

STANDOUT VENDORSAli Bailey, our photographer, definitely documented the day in the style that we were hoping for. Our vision was simple and clean, with lots of movement and action shots. She was amazing at capturing the fine details of the day, in the documentary style we were after. Everything came together so smoothly! Even the stormy weather on the day certainly matched the mystical and dramatic atmosphere we had wanted.”
