This wedding is a winner guys. Like you couldn’t already tell with this gown, right? Also, there was a disco ball tower… Enough said. A decade of love between them and the inspo? “Light on the formalities and heavy on the fun!” A winner on all fronts. THE VENUE “We were initially planning on having our reception at my parents place, but after the November mini lockdown in Adelaide we decided that it might be a bit risky. We had looked at the Comida garden back when it was Seasonal Garden Café and loved it. We met with Sarina the Comida venue coordinator and everything kind of fell into place. We were sold as soon as we saw the incredible oak tree in the Stangate Garden.”
FAVE DETAILS “The video game arcade station! We both like playing video games and it was something we really connected over early on, so getting to play a round of Street Fighter on our wedding night was something we really wanted to make happen. Also, my dress because I felt like such a dream wearing it [and] the neon arbour. Our good friends at Custom Neon hooked us up with a strip of neon rope that we attached to a frame. We then had it moved to the reception for the dance floor where it really added to the vibe!”
DIY “We hot glued about 10 disco balls of various sizes together, with floral foam in the centre. We then stuck fresh and dried florals into the foam so it looked like a little flower disco ball explosion. Disco ball place cards, streamers, arcade game set up, the invitations, seating chart, welcome signs, candles etc.”
THE DRESS “The dress I had actually seen on the Couture Love Madness Instagram and as soon as I put it on I was just floored by how phenomenal it was and couldn’t go with anything else after that! Working with Cristina was so much fun, she is amazing at what she does. All of her pieces are stunning and the detail she puts into everything is next level. I’m already trying to figure out where I can wear my dress next because I felt like such a princess and had the absolute best time swishing around in it.”
ON MARRIAGE… “Things may not change too dramatically. We’ll still play video games, watch Survivor, and dance to K-Pop together. But in a way I guess getting married is kind of like us agreeing, yeah, let’s hang out, have fun, and go on adventures together for the rest of our lives!”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “Did a first look! It was so wonderful to get that bit of time with each other after all the running around in the morning. We are both pretty emotional people – my friends will verify that I cry happy tears on a very regular basis – so it also helped us both hold it together during the ceremony and walk down the aisle.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Our celebrant Tita [of Por Vida] was incredible. She went above and beyond, made our ceremony so personal and fun – I honestly can’t recommend her enough. Sarina, the venue coordinator at Comida was the MVP of the whole show. She is great at what she does, and made the process so easy.”
