This fun-filled wedding featured a damn fine Karen Willis Holmes gown, fireworks, florals (we are quite simply obsessed with) and a loved up couple to boot! Can you get a better recipe for your big day? We think not. The only thing the bride wished was different was thanks to the rain, they had to hold the ceremony inside instead of out, but you know what they say… a wet knot is harder to untie, people. It was still superb guys, and the ever-impressive Georgia Verrells Photography was there to get all the evidence. So go on, get scrolling…

THE VENUEWe had a few venues in mind, but Eliza from Mt Duneed Estate and their overall service is what led us to choose them. Their venue is incredibly beautiful, but that wasn’t the deciding factor. They responded to our enquiry with a complete wedding package breakdown within a few hours of me emailing them. They explained everything in clear and simple language, they were incredibly flexible with ANY request we had and genuinely just wanted to do anything they could to give us the day of our dreams. They were so kind and supportive from day one and I will always be so appreciate of everything Eliza and the Mt Duneed team did for us.”

THE THEMEWas dark, moody and romantic. Lots of deep reds, purples and pinks. Jessica Alderton Events did such an incredible job bringing our ideas to life. Before anyone got to see inside of the venue, Eliza took Marty and I inside to see the incredible work Jessica and her team did and my jaw dropped. It was pure magic. The flower bouquets, the flower installation across our wedding arch and our flower installation behind the bridal table were probably my favourite pieces. The attention to detail that Jessica and her team provided was beyond anything we could of ever expected.”

THE DRESSMy dress was from Karen Willis Holmes in Armadale. This was the only bridal store I actually went to! My first time there was with my bridesmaid Emily, and we pretty much knew which dress was the one. A few weeks later all of my bridesmaids, maid of honour and mother-in-law Gabby came to see it in person. They all cried when I walked out, so I knew it was the one. I loved the experience! I was worried I wouldn’t find anything, but the girls at Karen Willis Holmes made it so fun and easy. It was probably my favourite part out of all of the planning!”

LITTLE LOLOn my sister-in-law’s wedding day, my mother and father-in-law did a rap to the guests to end their speech. I thought it was the funniest thing, but Marty was mortified. I was hoping that they would do something like that for ours, but every time I brought it up they totally threw me off of the scent saying they’ve been there, done that and that Marty would kill them if they did. At the end of my father-in-law’s speech, he turned on the TV behind him and played a video clip they made of him and Gabby doing a rap for us. It was so funny – practically everyone was in tears afterwards. I don’t think anyone will forget that moment. I’m so glad they recorded it, so we can keep that memory forever.”

STANDOUT VENDORSEliza and the team at Mt Duneed Estate, Georgia Verrells Photography and Jessica Alderton Events and her team. I couldn’t of done it without them and I would recommend all of them to anyone. I’m not great at photos being taken, but Georgia Verrells Photography made both Marty and I so comfortable. We bonded as soon as we met – she is the most loving and attentive woman and I feel so lucky we got to have her as our photographer and now a friend. I constantly look at our photos and I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of looking over them – her attention to detail and skill is simply incredible.”
