Almost a decade ago, these two realised they were in love and now run a company together in San Francisco. Jax was living over there at the time and Rose explains, “We were friends before we realised that we were in love and I decided to tell her how I felt. It was the most emotionally intense 15-minute phone call of my life. Best life decision, ever.” Fast forward to their nuptials and not only was it held at the incredible The Cove Jervis Bay, one of our fave florists, Gypsy Carmen was on the blooms, while The Wedding + Event Creators were on top of the planning and styling and The Future Mrs was dolling up the gals. The wonderful Maple and June was behind the camera to capture it all, so scroll down for all you need to know – and see!
THE VENUE “A lot of our guests were coming from overseas and we wanted to share a special piece of Australia with them for a few days. We also wanted bushland and ocean views, and had only seen one or two places before we stumbled upon The Cove Jervis Bay. It’s impossible to beat the natural beauty of Booderee National park and we loved giving everyone the chance to switch off and take a mini holiday with us.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “Gypsy Carmen was fantastic and took our very minimal concept and made it seamless with the surrounding nature. And the food was outstanding. The Rabbit & Co Caterers bar and wait staff were incredibly friendly, relaxed and fun.”
THE OUTFITS “Honestly it was my (Rose) most dreaded part of planning the wedding at first. But after going to my first fitting I realised it wasn’t so bad. As soon as I stopped thinking about it, I found an amazing Lovers Society dress. Similar to Rose, the concept of finding a dress was probably one of the reasons we waited so long to get married! However, once I (Jax) started looking it was actually fun and I managed to fulfil my wish of finding a fresh jumpsuit.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “Getting ready. I was nervous but it felt so relaxed and special to get ready and have friends stop by. Walking to the ceremony with Jax and both of our parents by each of our sides before walking down the aisle. And surprising Mum with one of her favourite songs on the dance floor. It was priceless to see the look on her face.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “Paid extra attention the food and made it a long weekend.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Maple and June were incredible to work with. We felt like it was more important to document moments of the day and wanted to have an opportunity to experience what we would have missed. Of course, our portrait sessions were amazing too – but since we didn’t have a bridal party, it simplified things so we could be closer to everyone. And The Wedding + Event Creators Vanessa and Sarah kept us incredibly organised leading up to and on the day of. And The Cove Jervis Bay. Kayla, the manager, was such a pleasure, so accommodating and so supportive. She made sure to check in with us every step of the way.”
