Five years on from Dave dropping the knee in his boardies on a weekend away Glamping down the South Coast, these two tied the knot in this Snowy Mountains soiree, complete with the cutest cake we ever did see! And boy are we glad. Our Frenchie fave photographer, Alexandra Cohen, documented the day and you can find it all below – along with our chat with the very happy couple, of course…

THE VENUE “We decided we wanted to get married in the Jindabyne/ Thredbo area – it brought us together and we love it here in the mountains. Tinkersfeild was the first venue I visited on many friends’ recommendations and I fell in love instantly! Dave was in Europe at the time – I called him to tell him where and it happened that he had actually worked for the family when he was younger pulling thistles out of the paddock that we would eventually get married in! It was meant to be.”

THE INSPO “The theme was very bohemian, which is very much my style. We really just wanted the day to be really relaxed and casual, not a lot of formalities.

FAVE DETAILS I really loved my flowers. They were put together but my friend Gab, who owns The Flower Pantry in Cooma. She did such an amazing job at pulling all my inspo together and making it my own.”

DIY “Our cake was also a huge labour of love and it turned out to be so beautiful. Dave and I hand grew the flowers for the entire year prior and then I pressed them all. My mum made her signature chocolate cake – I just love how it turned out and that so many hands helped bring it together.”

THE DRESS “My dress was my dream dress and there was a bit of a story behind it. I wanted to wear Rue De Seine – it meant so much to me to wear on of their designs because it is a New Zealand designer and as I grew up in New Zealand – this was my little piece of home incorporated into the wedding. I had my heart set on the Dakota and they had discontinued it. But they said they would do a special run for me. I have never felt so beautiful and more like myself in a dress.”

REFERENCES Lots of my vendors were actually my friends, so I was really lucky in that respect. The rest of the vendors I found via word of mouth, Instagram and reading Hello May.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “I have to say, Alex, our photographer, was incredible! I basically planned the entire wedding around her and her available dates and she was the first thing I booked. She is absolutely amazing at what she does and the photos are just insane, I could not recommend her enough! Dan, (Blended Films Videography) was also amazing! Dave and I were both a little nervous about being filmed but Dan was so good at making us feel relaxed.”
