Meet Sarah and James, together for seven years, after connecting on Tinder. “Some people get really embarrassed saying they met their partner on a dating app. Well, not us! We love our story.” We love their story too! They then became Mr and Mrs at the hippest little wedding chapel this side of Vegas, The Altar Electric in Melbs, and had the oh-so talented Kinship by Kristy along for the ride to take some seriously incredible snaps. So many fun pics here, scroll down to see…

THE VENUE “We knew we wanted a small wedding, we also knew we wanted it to be a different venue to the norm. Once we seriously started looking at venues we realised that most dedicated event spaces catered to much larger crowds than what we had. We went to see The Altar Electric briefly and that was all we needed to see. It was the venue for us. We also went for dinner at Stokehouse, which resulted in a very quick ‘Yes!’.

THE INSPO “Our first home together was in St Kilda so it was really important that our wedding was in St Kilda as all of our first and early memories are there. Our apartment looked over Luna Park (where we had photos taken) and the beach.”

FAVE DEETS “Our wedding car was my something blue on the day. We both seriously loved it. The Moke has travelled all over Australia and was once purple. It’s James’ father’s and it played a very special and key part in our day. My flowers Flower Head Events were better than I could have imagined as well – big, bright and FUN! That was our whole vibe for the day.

THE DRESS “My family is from Brisbane, so when we went up for Christmas I was a woman on a mission. Mum and I did the whole of James Street! I actually had found another dress that I liked, but it wasn’t love. The day felt unsuccessful until we tried Aje. I wanted something that was quality and I knew would fit. They say you don’t choose the dress, it chooses you. This was the case and I also love that I got it in Brissie with my mum.”

LITTLE LOL “Ellie, our goldie girl, basically stole the show, running a muck around the altar. Pretty sure she was more excited than we were! All of her favourite people in one room. All of our favourite people too!”

REFERENCESHello May! We found a lot through this magazine and  blog. Our photographer Kinship by Kristy was our biggest find, she is fantastic and captured our day better than we could ever have imagined.”
