Having been together for ten years, Sarah & Jeff knew exactly what they wanted on their dream day – quality time spent together. After a short but sweet reception, these two lovebirds nipped off for an afternoon alone spent at a beautiful old converted church. But that’s not to say their guests didn’t party on without them! A win-win, we think. Oh, and they also had the wonderful Zoe Morley on hand snapping up a storm. Triple win! Scroll down for more…

FAVOURITE DETAILS “We loved the dancing lion because it was a bit of a surprise for everyone and we knew it would mean so much to Jeff’s mum. I don’t think we will ever be invited back to that church though….. they said strictly no confetti on the day and I forgot to communicate this. I will never forget the look on the priest’s face as a giant confetti bomb shot up above us! Oh, and our cake… we were so embarrassing and had Watson’s Bay pack up like 10 containers of our strawberry watermelon cake which we proceeded to successfully burn through in two days.”

DIY… “We decorated the venue with ferns, fiddle figs and palms that we bought ourselves to fill the room with greenery and complement our flower arrangements. We live in a teenie tiny studio apartment and after the wedding, we didn’t want to leave any of the gorgeous plants and ferns so we took them home. You know those really impractical images you see on Pinterest with so much greenery in a home it resembles a jungle? That was us! It was honestly ridiculous. A fiddle fig in the shower was the final straw for Jeff…. So I reluctantly had to gift a lot of the plants away. I think using greenery is just such a great idea. It was a much more cost-effective option than covering the venue in flowers and it just looked gorgeous!”

A WORD OF ADVICE “First of all, I would suggest asking yourselves before planning a single thing what is truly important for you both to get out of the day. Write it down, keep it simple and go with your first instincts with all expectations aside. From there, when decisions, compromises, budget restrictions and arguments around really insignificant details creep up on you, revisit what you said was really important to you both. It will keep you focused on what the day is really about and you will be less inclined to become overwhelmed, over budget and just generally swept up by it all.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “Had an unplugged ceremony. It was really important for me to walk down the aisle and see all of those gorgeous faces rather than screens. Plus I have a really ugly cry face .”

STANDOUT VENDORS “So we like fell in love with our photographer, Zoe Morley. She is just a gorgeous soul and incredibly talented at what she does. We stayed connected after the wedding, chat about our pets on Insta and Jeff and I recently attended one of her exhibitions!”
