When Dan proposed to Tahlia, a jeweller, she had no idea what she was in for. “He caught me completely by surprise, said the most romantic little spiel and presented me with the most beautiful ring I’d ever seen handmade by him which made it 1000 times more special. It was perfect,” says Tahlia, who admits she found the planning process okay, at least most of the time.
“I was a pretty good bride-to-be, oh except for the day I had a meltdown about greenery for the ceremony. We could laugh about it 30 mins later, but at the time it was the end of the world. I had my fair share of moments freaking out about silly insignificant things, but we always made sure we had a good laugh about the ridiculousness after each thing got sorted out.”
Fortunately they had some hired help from Tanya of Sugared Style who took care of all the bits and bobs, from on the day coordination to prop and furniture hire. “She went above and beyond to make sure everything I wanted happened and I will never truly know the amount of times she went into battle for me without putting any stress at all on me.”
Their ceremony, held at High Church and their reception at Pony Dining in Brisbane were both glamorous and timeless – think whimsical greenery, monochrome and copper elements and beautiful florals by The Bloom Collective. Captured by photo-gurus Heart & Colour (whose image appeared on the cover of issue six), Tahlia looked lovely too, dressed in a Bo & Luca with accessories by Samantha Wills.
