There’s nothing we love more than a friends-turned-lovers tale and, you guys, Talyna and Issac’s story is too sweet for words. “I remember meeting Isaac at a house party when we were 17 and we’ve been friends since,” shares the bride, who works as a clinical nurse educator in the emergency department. “We went through that really awkward transition, moving from best friends to lovers, lots of calling each other ‘dude’ and ‘mate’. When we both admitted it, it was so easy to fall in love.” Both 31 now, Talyna says simply, “There is no one else I’d rather do life with. He’s still my best friend.” Too cute! After wrangling together a team of A+ vendors (including a few of our all-time faves – The White Tree on tunes, Veronika Moreira on hair and M.J. Bale on suiting) these two tied the knot in the Southern Highlands. Scroll down for all the deets and snaps, thanks to the fab Brown Paper Parcel

THE VENUE “We have always loved the idea of a weekend away, out-of-Sydney wedding. We picked the Southern Highlands because we both love wide open spaces, all the pretty cottages, the changing seasons and a big fire. It’s our go-to escape for the weekend. Somerley House truly captured all of that. It is breathtakingly beautiful. The grounds are so unique and every aspect of the gardens has some hidden gem or beautiful history. Somerley plants a tree in their garden for every couple that gets married there. They planted a Hibiscus for us and we can’t wait to go back one day and see it in bloom.”

FAVOURITE MOMENT “Jess and Josh grabbed us in the middle of dinner and said – there’s a sunset and we have to go right now. We ran down the driveway and we took a 4WD buggy down to a field to chase the sun. It was the last light and the sun was about to set. There were the most beautiful horses on the Somerley property. Once we got into the field, they immediately came straight up to us and wanted to be around us. Horses at sunset – can it get any better? It was basically all my dreams come true in one photo.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Each person picks a non-negotiable – Isaac’s was espresso martinis after dinner and mine was flowers -flowers everywhere.”

WE’RE GLAD WE…“We are really glad we involved our little nieces and nephews. Family is so important to both of us and they truly stole the show. It was so cute to have them dressed up in little suits and dresses. My favourite part was the two page boys and their little loafers we got them.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “This is very hard to pick as all of our vendors were so beautiful and made the process so effortless. Can I just list them all? Everything from the old man in the CBD who shined all the boys’ shoes, to my phenomenal hair and make-up, to The White Tree cracking open the dance floor to the sparkler getaway we had at the end of the night. All those and all the in-between gave us the most special day and we are so thankful for them. A special shout out to the waitress that trekked into the field to ensure we got some canapés.”

Clearly, Talyna & Issac were stoked with their A-team of vendors. Wanna catch more from some of these legends? You can catch more goodness from The White Tree here, lush locks by by Veronika Moreira here and suiting gold from M.J. Bale here. But be sure to take a squiz at said sunset horse photos first…
