Tanya and Sherwin have been together “since like forever”. These childhood sweethearts first hooked up when they were 15 an 14, respectively, and seriously guys, could they actually get any cuter? In the charming regional town of Taradale, Tanya and Sherwin pulled off a brilliant celebration, complete with the prettiest personalised stationery from Paper Fox Design, a delish Ladybird Cakes creation, one of our all-time faves Ashleigh Haase behind the lens… and a flash dance! THE THEME “Truthfully, [our venue] Churchill was the theme, vibe, inspiration for our wedding. We seriously fell in love so hard with the venue and wanted all our wedding elements to complement the location. From the colour palette we chose, to the artwork on our wedding invitations, everything tied in beautifully with Churchill’s charm. But, of equal importance to us, if not more, was that we wanted our wedding to be quintessentially ‘Tanya and Sherwin’. We took great care and effort to incorporate elements of our personalities into the wedding day so that it was truly a bespoke, personal experience for us and our guests. “

FAVE DEETS “We wanted the wedding stationery to be completely personalised and representative of us as individuals, and chose Keisha from Paperfox Design to execute our brief. She illustrated a beautiful fine line drawing of the church and incorporated the design into our invitations and order of service booklets. The booklets were also personalised to include romantic quotes from my favourite novels, and included an ‘Acknowledgement of Country’ to formally recognise that we were gathered on Aboriginal land. We also worked with Keisha to create our custom wedding welcome sign (including a quote from the Lord of the Rings – I’m a massive fan) and menus which were personalised to reflect our Anglo-Indian culture.”

REFERENCES “Hello May (website and Instagram) was the starting point of our search for vendors and wedding inspiration. The Real Weddings section is SO helpful!”

DIY “Our wedding favours were mini bottles of homemade garlic pickle and ginger wine, made with love by our beautiful mothers and aunties. The favours were a super special and meaningful token of the love of our family, and guests absolutely raved about how delicious they were! “

MEMORABLE MOMENT “We had a ‘flash dance’ straight after our first dance involving our family and friends. Dance practise with everyone was SO much fun and was such a highlight of the wedding preparations (shout out to our amazing friends Shals and Dilli for the choreo!)”

A WORD OF ADVICE “You do you, boo. This is your day so don’t be swayed by the opinions or comments of others. Compromise if you really must, but trust in yourself and each other and make decisions based on that.”
