Taylah and Stu’s love story is a modern one, guys. “I was living in Brisbane at the time and Stu was living in Toowoomba… he just slid into my DMs,” reveals the bride, who wore a stunning gown from Sphere Bridal Gallery. But she wasn’t the only one in a stylish get-up. Stu (and all five of his groomsmen) were kitted out in M.J. Bale and couldn’t have looked more dapper. THE INSPO “Our inspiration behind the day was romantic vibes while blending with the raw, textured elements and beauty of the Australian country landscape. Goonoo Goonoo Station provided the perfect location as it is a working cattle and cropping station surrounded by fully restored 19th century buildings. I knew exactly what I wanted in my mind and I think together we nailed it!”

FAVE DEETS “I really loved our bouquets (by Jade McIntosh Flowers & Styling) – big beautiful bunches of long-stemmed white roses, completely timeless! I also loved the beautiful white linen material that ran along the centre of the timber tables and tapered candles.”

THE DRESS “My true love… joking! I purchased my incredible Chosen by KYHA gown from Sphere Bridal Gallery on the Sunshine Coast. I had saved the Hazel gown in one of my Instagram albums in November 2019…5 months before getting engaged (no pressure Stu!) I spotted it and I instantly thought to myself, that is my wedding dress. After we actually got engaged I booked an appointment at Sphere. I kept an open mind but as soon as I put that gown on, the search was over . It was an easy, beautiful process. I’ve still never seen a dress I love more.”

THE SUIT “My suit was from M.J. Bale, Toowoomba. I have always loved their suits and I think you can tell the difference in the quality and in how they fit. The ladies in the store made it a really easy process and there were even beers involved in the process. Getting the boys together in one place was the hardest part!”

CUTE CUSTOM “We really wanted to have my Dad surrounding us on our day because he was extremely missed. My Dad passed away from Prostate Cancer when I was 18. My Mum gifted me a photo of Dad to tie around my bouquet and his photo was at the front of the ceremony and at the reception. Before I walked down the aisle my Mum got up and lit the candle for my Dad – it was really special. We had photos of all of our beautiful grandparents that are no longer with us amongst flowers and candles at the reception. We could really feel their presence with us all day!”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Outsource as much as you can! Take the pressure off yourself and the day by getting your family, friends or vendors to be responsible for different tasks in the lead-up to the wedding or on the day – it really helps to prevent the overwhelm. People want to help, let them!”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Our standout vendors from our wedding would have to be Leah Cruikshank Photography and our videographer, Mitch, (of Castle & Crown). They were so easy to work with. I loved being a part of their creative process and really felt their excitement for us on our day. We have the most incredible photos and video to cherish for the rest of our lives.”
